Liberation Day. The Netherlands. Every year on May 5, the Netherlands celebrates the day on which they were liberated from the German occupation (WWII). Liberation Day is a national holiday in the Netherlands. Activities are organized all over the country. Every city or village has its own activity program. The association of old army vehicles “Keep them Rolling” supports this by participating in parades with their historic military vehicles. At the invitation of various foundations, foreign veterans are invited to celebrate the liberation of the Netherlands and to thank them for their efforts in the liberation.
