The Hidden Reason Why Fredo Betrayed The Godfather Michael Corleone...
One of the most important lessons that the Godfather himself, Don Vito instilled in Michael was to “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer”, But what does this mean? And how can you use it in your own life? Don Vito was actually describing Law 2 of Power.
Michael Broke one of the 48 Laws of Power & so had to pay the price... | 48 Laws of Power Explained
How Hyman Roth used Fredo & Michael Corleone to CRUSH the Corleone Family?
Don Vito warned Michael, but he still couldn't see it. It may initially seem the most "Evil" or "Machiavellian" law in the laws of power, but if you look deeper you'll find that there is a somewhat hidden principle that people often overlook. A skill that all those who reach the top of their fields have mastered. and by the end you too will understand and master this strategy, helping you conquer your goals.
There are 2 Key ideas and we will break Both of them down. ✅
The reason Hyman Roth was incredibly close to finally annihilating the Corleone family, was the fact he understood his enemy and identified his weak point, a simple strategy that has been used for thousands of years. But the truth is, the biggest key to his success had nothing to do with him, The real reason Roth's attack was so well effective, came down to Michaels transgression of the Second law of power.
Law 2: Never Put Too Much Trust In Friends, Learn How To Use Enemies.
In the game of power You need to surround yourself and acquire the ability to identify those who will best further your interests in all situations. Which essentially means, valuing skill and competence as a more important prerequisite than your personal feelings or your relationship with the individual. If you want to succeed in the game of power, or in life in general, You need to surround yourself with those most capable in helping you reach your goals.
In this Video You will:
🏆 How some of the Most iconic and Successful athletes use this law to become the Best in their fields. From Muhammad Ali & Joe Frazier, to Cristiano Ronaldo & Lionel Messi, all the way to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. We will give You the key that these legends have ALL used.
🗡 Find out Why the Laws of Power state that it was Michael to blame, not Hyman Roth for Fredo's betrayal...
📕 What this Law ACTUALLY means & Our interpretation of it's Key ideas...
and Much Much More....

What is the "48 Laws of Power"?
The 48 Laws of Power is essentially a brutally honest guide, for understanding the complexities of Power. The truth is, Whether You like it or not, you are a player in the Game of Power. 🌹💎
In the Godfather Don Vito and Michael Corleone had to meticulously manoeuvre the merciless world of the mafia, navigating a world full of treacherous and conniving figures, all who were looking for the slightest show of weakness, to dethrone the dons. But the reason that both Don Vito & Michael, were always able to come out on top, Was that, they had become masters, of the Game of Power.⚔️
Like don Vito and Michael, in real life, the masters of the game have been prevalent across history and from all cultures, figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Niccolò Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Carl Von Clausewitz, Otto Von Bismarck, just to name a few, all were true masters the game of power.🐉

Aaron Sarfatis comment is a valid one. People that can elevate the Art of Deception to the level of a Michael Corleone are exceedingly rare. Like lips on a Rooster. It takes someone of extreme ambition and personal force to carry the day. Not to mention intelligence. Michael had all these traits in spades. Most importantly he had the greatest intellectual gift a person can possess. The ability to understand how people around him were thinking. All without revealing his own intentions in the slightest. Combine this with the ruthless execution of his enemies and you have the perfect Capo di Tutti Capi. The boss of all bosses. Unlike his father though, Michael lacked the warmth and compassion needed to not lose his family in the process. That is the most unique trait of a leader in the world of organized crime. Accepting the personal losses that are so great. Even in victory.

One thing that is missed when discussing Alfredo is in regards to the Senate investigation of Michael. He knew all along that Pantangele(sp) was alive and to be a witness. He also know the Senate lawyer was a Roth's man. Yet he didn't think to tell Michael. Michael would have never given up his 5th Amendment rights had Alfredo given him this information. It wasn't until after the fact when Michael asked if there was anything else Alfredo knew that he revealed these two pieces of information. The look Michael gives him. Still Alfredo doesn't realize how important it was to of told Micheal earlier, before he testified before the Senate. I think that also influenced Michael's decision on what to do with Alfredo.

Michael & Vito had different goals. Vito's goal was to stay on top of the criminal world. Actually, Vito too had the same goal as Michael. But his reputation wouldn't allow the family to be clean in his time. That is why he always had hope for Michael (and also Tom). They would be the harbringers of legitimacy to corleone family. Now people may argue Tom is not a good consiglieri. But his role in legitimizing the family is unavoidably important. I think it’s the same for all this type of advice, it depends on the situation and circumstances. For Vito his enemies were were people he dealt with quite regularly, the type of war he was engaged in with them was much more subtle. He wanted them around so they could not plot behind his back. For Michael it was the right move because he was in uncharted waters, he’s never dealt with a man like Hyman Roth and wasn’t sure who to trust. So he needed them close to be able to see through their facade and find the crack he needs to then turn the tables.

Fredo betrayed his brother because of hate, resentment, inferiority complex personality, cowardy, weakness, lack of inteligence and envy.

so silly. being coddled & doted upon, especially by a dangerous person, is a strong warning the guy sees you as an enemy, and maybe you should strike first.

Correction I believe at this point the film is getting it wrong the intention of putting Fredo as ub so mc would catch Fredo on the first move. I believe the film is spoof at this point.

People seem to forget that this was a movie script written by the novel's author Mario Puzo, the director Francis Ford Copella and Robert Towne who wrote the garden scene between Vito and Michael as well as possibly others who didn't get credited. Written to provide entertainment, not as some scholarly treatise on the uses of power or how to navigate the world. It's about psychopathic, immoral societal misfits. Not men of honor or any particular admirable qualities. They pervert things like family and honor, not serve as examples. They are weak, unable to control themselves but rather give in to acting out their fears and inadequacies as men and human beings. They are comic book figures rather than real people facing real life.

The Godfather is an obnoxious example base. No insight whatsoever is given as to how to use your competitors or enemies to your advantage. Poorly conceived and vacuous.
