What a wild ocean and not because of the conditions--they were great. No wind to speak of, decent fog bank but not problematically dense when running with radar, good cloud cover....but the water temperature....oh man, pretty crazy. We landed this hen about 8 miles west of the bar in 61F water (~275 ft). Got some bites and a few wilds in this area, then responded to radio chatter and ran back in to two miles out (100 ft) just off the light house for an allegedly hot bite. All we got was a bird (see other video)! Ran back out to the north end of Stonewall where the bite was also allegedly hot just in time to catch the shift in tides. Lots of drive bys in the area, a couple wilds, and 65F (!!!!!!!) water in that spot, which is only 15 miles off the bar. We heard that a couple boats were finding tuna on the south end of Stonewall today, which is bonkers. Tuna less than 20 miles out? WILD! Water temps so hot that Coho are retreating to the thermocline just to stay alive right offshore.
