Great question, one that bothered me for a long time as well. What I discovered in my welding tools was a tool that cleaned out welding tips. It's a tool that has many extra small files. I'm not sure what you call it but it has about 15 files from small to thread thin. It works great on my smaller edge bevels and then I strop it on my leather, works great.
