These actually look really good inside compared to budget speakers, lots of mdf bracing inside. You don't see that level of bracing often usually it are just some sticks glued in some places.
Could you give us a follow up with the crossover? I'm asking because I'm interested whether the components are good or could be improved using higher quality stuff.
Thank you for your show , could you please tell me how to remove ring around center driver , what kind of tool do you use to remove ring of center driver . Because I will follow you for change cable inside my KEF R500 thank you
@@happyrelax5059 im late here, but it reaaaly helps if you get all 4 nails (nails from your fingers, not metal nails, those will definitely destroy your speaker lol) under there to you dont accidentally break the plastic and that your nails dont bend
In the video I saw a blue and black and a purple and black speaker wires going from the uni q driver out behind the cotton, and the red and black speaker wires are for the woofers, when I took the binding post cover off the back of the speaker I only saw the red and black wires going to the crossover at the base of the speaker, and the blue and black run down and go directly to the binding posts, where does the purple and black wires go? I want to remove the speaker but idk if it's difficult to remove the outer beauty ring it seems tight to the speaker and can't get anything in between to remove it away from the speaker without damaging the speaker by putting any dings on the woofer. Any suggestions on removing the ring safely around the uni q array driver thanks?
What are the rings around all drivers hiding all the screws and stuff made of? They certainly looks like cheap plastic...? :/ Any issues with allignment of these / them staying in place while playing music?
Loved this video. Thank you. Funny thing. Some random searchers for speaker wire led me to this video. What gauge speaker wire is that in side the speaker. And is it the same type for the different drivers? Also what would you folks normally recommend for inwall runs of about 10m and less?
thanks for deep unboxing, i'm surprised to see that they screwede those woofers on to 5mm standard mdf, it's so thing. Check some Magnat speakers, their drivers are mounted onto 45mm specially hardened brick like material..Germans are way ahead of these craps.
All but the reference line made in China under strict assembly guide lines, the meta ..like my reference 5 hand made in Kent England meta. A real loudspeaker company design from drivers to cabinet KEF. One of the best in the world Real speaker maker's 😊
Huge Kef fan here but these look pretty cheaply Made, and in Canada anyways the lowest you can get these for is $6k a pair. I am Not seeing 6k here. The internals look on par quality wise with iq7’s I have opened up which are good speakers but kef’s entry level priced 6 times lower.
Exactly, it's ridiculous the build quality they put on this speaker and the asking price. They can fool somebody else i was thinking about them, not after seeing what's inside, plastic ? Really ? For 6k? No thank you
@@TexasCorgiGun lol clearly you have no idea how much goods must be marked up to sell on a mass scale. For better build quality try a small builder, and take your chances...
I would love to see what is used in the xovers and the cost of components. I have seen the their reference speakers use a charity cap MR4 U7H capacitor that sells for £20, the resistors costs a few pounds each and they are speakers that start at £10,000. I would to see what a xover upgrade would do to the R11.
Good improvement of components tbh over the old R series (r700 r900), those had really really crap components inside. This is actually ok, for this price range. Sound should be better also. Did you get a chance to compare them sound wise?
Its funny how people spend hundereds and sometimes thousands of dollars on cables, and inside so called reference speakers you find thin and cheap crap cables at at total cost of 2 bucks tops ...
I am sick of these video that only play music instead of what the person speaking and saying what they are is doing and why.. The same when upgrading crossovers on B&W 702 speakers. Can't you people speak. It makes the video boring.
