Good morning, First thanks for the reply. I must say that these pictures came from a customer, so I’ve not done the repair by myself. I think that a part of a clothes pin can be handy. This piece of wood between the back of the cone and the demounting rubber surround on the back of the cone. Don’t push too hard for not damaging the cone. The cone of these speakers are sharp at the edge and very thin. It’s very necessary to take your time and be careful and accurate. All at own risk. Best regards, Fred
Good morning, Thanks for your reply. Outside Europe customs checks often every single package that is from NL because of the drugs. I don’t smoke, don’t drink, and use no drugs. NL being a drugs country is not handy for us. Also the corona crisis is a part of the problem. Good morning, Thanks for your message. The parts for many of KEF's later models are 100% made in China. I had a pair with broken rubber surrounds, and tracked down the rubber surround mark. Now I'm not going to say they are bad surrounds. The problem is often that the cone is very hard and sharp at the edge of the cone. This cone cuts, as it were, after many times of movement, the rubber surround has broken. If it is the case that the relevant surround is also paved, then it is an addition, a break of the paved surround is then almost inevitable. A surround can harden if, for example, the wrong fillers are used for the material. With best regards, Fred
