The island of Kefalonia is the largest in the Ionian sea located in western Greece. It is a green island, full of mountains and nature.
Argostoli is the capital city of Kefalonia. It is a modern town laid out in a grid-pattern and easy to figure out. In 1953, the island was hit by an earthquake and in a period of 28 seconds, demolishing almost every man made structure in only 28 seconds. One of the reasons you don’t see old structures here at all. With a year round population of over 10,000 people, there are shops, restaurants, cafes and an active harbor with fishing boats and the main tourist attraction.
