Keith is still my favorite after all these years. The drummer of Ride also has his "moonisms," but there will never be anyone as original, powerful and and important to the instrument of drums then the gingerman muppet!
That guy on the drums behind the Gris Gris and Danny Goffey Of Supergrass are doing very well adapting into Keith's unique genius style but yes nobody can catch or match our MOONIE!!! Love rain O'er ME!
Not only was Moon the best, he could do things that other drummers of today and yesterday cannot do. He could switch up his feet on the lead bass drum, and many other things that drummers of today could not even try. As for Meteors916 comment, well everyone has an opinion, and I just gave you mine.
Keith Moon's drumming was known for being very loud, fast, and all over the place!!! When Keith first played with the Detour's, Roger described the sound of his druming was like a jet engine, so it would probaly sound pretty bad with a band like the Beach boy's, even though Keith first played in a Beach boy like band called the Beachcombers.
Kith Moon did what buddy rich did but took it to the next level, all others such as Bonham and pert offer us something different completely however moon was first and opened all the doors for the others, but please lets not forget Phil Collins
yes he took too much of his heminevrin, which was prescribed to him to supress his appetite for drinking, unfortunately this particular doctor did not know Keith had a bad habit of over-doing it w/ everything & he gave moon a full bottle & Keith was found to have taken about 20 or so most of which were still undigested when they did his autopsy. i think he was only suppose to take like 4-6 a day or something like that..
dont you dare say keith moons overrated. no one could ever replicate him. impossible you wanna talk overrated first person that should come to mind is JOHN BONHAM
moby dick is just repatative triplets. people just thought it was amazing cause it sounded fast. its nothing special. john didnt really do anything special other than moby dick. all of his songs are easy to play on drums. keith was sooo much harder to replicate than bonham.
