All members of the who had great talent but had it not been for Keith it would’ve never been the wild theatrical rock band it came to be. The music they created with Keith was epic sure they had some hits after Keith but it never had that wild rebellious rock sound they were known for. Keith was the spark he was the power plant behind some of their most iconic songs. Keith was like a raging storm with songs like wont get fooled again, Love rain or me, Can you see the real me ,punk and the godfather among other songs his drumming brought drama to the music and authentic sound of rebellious rock.
Most entertaining drummer ever....plus lit it up live...in my top five drummers all time. Moonie, Mitchell, Ian Paice, Bonham, Van Halen....again my top five....lol
Keith Moon is the greatest drummer of all time. This is from back in the late 60s. On computer bullshit. Just Keith Moon beating the hell out of his drums. He was and will always be the greatest rock drummer ever.
@@JCo1301 you are truly jealous of the times that us boomers grew up in. Cause we had the greatest rock bands ever and the greatest rock music there will ever be. Stop being so jealous of something you can never have. I lived in the greatest time ever. We did everything we didn't go to a computer to find out SHIT. So grow up and stop being jealous of one of the greatest generations ever in music.
@jasonmichael3108 no I can't but Keith only had one drum lesson. Look it up his Is drum teacher. Said he paid for the basc drum beat. That was it now that's what rock and roll was back in the beginning. That's why he is the greatest rock drummer ever.
@@Bonniemish technically? He’s way overrated. Lots of pomp and circumstance, plenty of theatrics, but nothing terribly difficult to play when broken down. I’d certainly not put him in the Neal Peart or Carl Palmer category. Now, his musicality is excellent and actually underrated.
Just more evidence that a drummer at birth can only really be a drummer. When placing a drummer into the position of laborer or clerical tasks one two things are going to happen. One, the pace in which the work is set, will be at this tempo throughout the day, Second, after being trained or instructed on the ways to complete the task, they will go to the beat of their inner drummer. So its best not to keep the journey man drummer away from his natural habitat for to long or you are only going to find a lost and confused ,sometimes self medicated individual.
A lot of drummers feel this way. I think it misunderstands what Keith was about. He had pretty rudimentary training, so yeah, what he does isn't technically impressive. Technical prowess didn't interest him much. He was a very reactive player who sought out his own voice. Almost as though his drums were responding to Entwistle's bass, Townshend's guitar, and Daltrey's vocals. He's influential because he took on that role and played with a freeness within the context of the song. That appeals to people, and a lot of drummers borrowed from it and incorporated it into a more disciplined style.
