Keith Richard's Voodoo Lounge (Voodoo Stew) [disc 1] 

I think Voodoo Lounge was one of there best albums and tours.

One of my all time favorite Stones albums. Voodoo Lounge is a masterpiece.

This is the real shit.....No Bull. Sounds like a Garage Band. Perfection. Oh Keith, this is Rock & Roll.

Keith's approach to songwriting becomes obvious here. He's got a riff and starts jamming with Charlie. Then he finds hook for the chorus, and for the verses he just mumbles through melodies until he finds something that sticks. Then Mick comes along and brings the whole thing into shape, structure and a lyrical theme of sorts. Finally, Ronnie adds his solos and counter-riffs to Keith. Voodoo Lounge really feels like a band effort in that regard. "F*ck around and find out"-style.

First time, I heard this version of Love is Strong, Now understand The "KEITH EFFECT" The sporadic spastic guitar of Genuis !!!!! in this song.

Charlie's drumming in sparks will fly is perfection

Keith doesn’t get called a genius enough compared to others from his time when arguably The Rolling Stones wrote the hardest to write songs. No one has managed to write rock no roll songs close to him. The man is a genius!

This band is a big part of the history of my life!!! I love all the songs of all the albuns!

Awesome upload. Offers fascinating insight into how these songs evolved into the versions we hear on the finished album. The strength of the Voodoo Lounge album and the accompanying tour is so often overlooked/ under-appreciated for how vital it was in sustaining the Stones as a force to be reckoned with well into the 2000's. They'd been written off so many times before of course but even the most ardent fans wouldn't have believed they still had a Grammy winning album in them, with Voodoo winning best rock album! Rock on Dartford Diablo's!

...they should play it like this live; their whole catalogue - Mick on back; Keith on lead vocals; would be cool for a change:)

1994, When Keith finally woke up from his drug induced fog of the late 70's early 80's, when I went back to listening to Slim Harpo and Elmore... Parts of this version of "Sweetshearts" sounds a lot like Willie DeVille's "Mixed Up Shook up Girl"....

Back in '65-'66, it seemed like the Stones would be the first major English band to explode into a million pieces and die, such was the level of their intensity. Really glad they didn't! Of course, they took a rest during the psychedelic area, but then exploded back into the limelight with Jumpin Jack Flash! Really glad they did!
