Just wanna remind all the parents out there to take FULL responsibilities for your children, it impacts them for a lifetime. Its not only divorce or drug abuse that counts. My parents divorced when i was in secondary school, throughout my teenage years, they werent paying much attention to me and being able to guide me through my journey. I hope all parents will know how to give love (kindness) to their children, instead of letting them suffer by themselves. As someone suffering from recovery, i understand that it matters a lot. I got schizophrenia when i was studying my college, all i have to do now is to learn self care, and guide myself lead myself to a better place.

This song always been my favorite and it is the definition of my abandonment issues my Father created and carrying on until this day. Broken 💔😢 hearts, broken words, and most of all broken promises. I pray whomever reading this May God continue to be our fortress and light in the darkness. He loves us all and he is the greatest Father of all. 🙏🏾

We should support everything to prevent any more "child abuse/neglect". Children should grow up with proper love and caring.

This song means so much to me & touched me on a very deep level it speaks the words of how my abusive childhood damaged me & the 2 very people who was ment to be my proctors and nurture me was in fact my abusers & most importantly my parents but after many years of being afraid of them & myself,I have come to realise that they was the cowards and I am the strong 1 because dispite years of abusing my body with alcohol and my mind with thoughts of being weak & a failure, I am still standing & they have passed away and although I never got any answers as to why they treated me the way they did & turned a blind eye to the other abuse that happened to me at the hands of my uncle & eldest brother,I have found some closure,and now understand that my childhood wasn't my fault and I am not longer a victim I am a survivor. Xx

My daughter is 17 and her dad and I split up when she was 6 and her sister was 3 He was an absent father due to alcohol, he was never there for both of them. He died in 2015 and she kept playing this song constantly. I asked why? She told me Kelly spoke her mind.

This song tells everything about me and my father.

Growing up with my mom in my grandparents house wasn't the best environment. There was an argument almost everyday, and I never knew if it was a day where me and my mom would get along and have fun. So I listened to this song a lot to cope. Then after learning that the reason I've never talked or even see my father never really cared, this song reminded me of that so I stopped listening to it. 2 years ago I met someone who was beautiful, kind hearted, and cared; ACTUALLY cared. I fell inlove with them but, I never told them because, 1. They were dating another friend of mine and I didn't want to start drama within my friend group and 2. My mom isn't accepting of non-binary (which they were) and just the whole LGBTQ+ "thing". So instead I became their rock, they trusted me to never judge them for ANYTHING. 2 months after the school year had ended, I got a text from them saying that their lover had broken up with them after school had ended and they felt so unloved and unwanted by the world. I tried to be their rock. Their reason to keep on. It was too late. They had been found dead in their room. I felt guilty, like a traitor. I was the one they went to when they were down I would talk to them for hours when they were having anxiety 'cause god damnit I've been there. And I was the one. The ONLY one they had expressed their pain too. With music being the way I cope I felt panicked cause where do you find a song remotely similar to this situation. After revisiting this song, I found it. That song. My song. The song that shows my thoughts. I feel heard for the first time since this whole ordeal started. I've listened to this song almost every night.

the national anthem of people like me who came from a broken family. my mother and father split up, my father died last 2016 while my mother is far away who already have boyfriend that time. I literally heard my father cried everynight in his sleep due to so much pain in his back which eventually cause him to die and i literally watch him die in the hospital. now my mother is also dead, she died last 2020 so painful
