this song I think the hardest song by lana del rey & sure nobody's have the magic of her voice but this was good .. the way she changed the version was smart 👌
A lot of covers are just missing that sensual playfulness that defines Lana's song. They never quite get it right and the worst covers just treat it as a straightforward love song. It isn't. You have to capture both the coyness of the song along with the toxic dysfunction that underlies and defines the song.
we love a fellow singer who knows Lana is queen.. She's a fan of hers and wanted to do a cover of her song. She was not trying to be better then her, she just appreciates the song.
This song is so hard even for us fans when we sing it at home. It's breath taking, literally. So fast, and breaks between lines are so short. I bet she needed some air after singing this.
I've learned the hard way that Lana songs are always harder to cover . And Kelly just killed it. I love how she adjusted it for her vocal style. How does Lana do it 😭
Arieana Jarvis she didn't breath properly the whole time. if she works on the simple mechanics and flucuations of Lana's voice she would sound a lot better. just my opinion though

Lana did NOT and doesn’t forget the lyric when she sings this she does it purposely if you see performances of ottr you notice she doesnt sing on the same part. If you’re dumb then dont try to diss someone
I didn't expect this to turn out this well. Not because, Kelly isn't a wonderful singer but because it is quite hard. She managed to make it fit into her own music style successfully :)
My wife is a huge Kelly fan, and I love her myself. I also love Lana, and this is my favorite Lana song, so it makes me so happy that Kelly would cover this.
“off to the races” is one of the hardest songs to sing, from the arrangement to the pitch, that song is made for the expert singers. Kelly did great, but Lana’s level is unreachable:)
I'm a huge lana fan and I read some comments saying lana is unreachable. I feel like you can't compare them at all. ofc it's not in lanas style and her melancholic voice. but kelly really slayed that one cause it's really hard and it sounds soo good in her way

i hate how everyone compares her to lana. of course lana will be the one and only who can sing this song properly, it’s hers! but for doing a cover and making it suit her own voice, kelly did an amazing job, especially for a difficult song like this that’s not even hers. i wish people would just give her credit for that rather than the comparison.
I know it's different and obviously Lana has a way to her that nobody can replicate... but Kelly is a really good singer and I like how she changed the vibe of the song. She did a nice cover 👌👌
So proud of Kelly. It's VERY DIFFICULT to perform "Off To The Races" It's just her own way of expression about the song's feeling! It's not Lana. Even though, it's not a bad cover. It's quite good!!🎉🎉🎉
She tried the best, but I can't feel super like Lana's style. Lana is the best for her own songs. Others can try, but can't score 100% . Lana created her songs magically, powerfully and no one can sing like her style.
I am not an expert but I think because of the vocal layering in Lana’s songs and lack of background vocals in her live performances, in addiction of her breathy vocals.
