Love this song. Love Kelly. I wish some of her songs like the songs from My December got more attention. Heck, I wish Kelly got more well-deserved attention, but that's life.
Sometimes I don't get artist's choices. Kelly should've put this song center of her promotion efforts. This, along with Breaking Your Own Heart are her best ballads since Because Of You, and Honestly needed to be performed at least once on an award show. The vocals that goes into this song are incredible. The cd version even has some whistle notes towards the end on the background (done by Kelly).
Her vocal control is honestly (pun intended) unparalleled amongst her peers. She knows -just- when to reign it in, or when to just go fucking ham and belt it out. It’s a very intrinsic gift, and ties into her sincerity and genuineness as a human being.
I love this song a lot, which i heard with my girlfriend doing kiss. since then, It has became a favorite pop song in my life, though i had broken up early.
I agree, but the problem isn't Kelly; it's Kelly's record label. If Kelly had the power to choose which songs to promote, I'm pretty sure she would've promoted Honestly and at least one more single from the Stronger album. (I was so looking forward to a fourth single!) It's just that her record label calls the shots, and they only pick songs that will make the most money, and not necessarily the best songs.
I feel like this song and Let me Down should've gotten WAY more attention. I don't really even like Mr. Know It All! Let Me Down could've been another radio dominating song like Stronger. People love her heavy angry music.
What the heck is she saying in the beginning about being hot....something being "fat"? and not wasting a good cookie???? Does anyone know? lmao! I'm sure it was funny which is why I'm curious. Great performance. Very glad she finally did "Honestly"
