i like the fact that show has a level of humility and warmth to it. i like to hear people stories not just celebrities because it breaks this barrier of hierarchy and privilege, it pushes the idea that every single individual has story to tell whether your famous or not. your story is as important as the story well known. that's what makes me wanna see the show. I’m in tears. I got the warmest feeling listening to Kelly’s mom talk about why she became a teacher. I’ve had terribly mean teachers, my children have had awful teachers. We need more teachers that want to inspire, that understand all children are different and that want kids to want to learn! I wish I could hug her right now.

I had a very mean, scary, verbally abusive math teacher I had for 2 semesters. I was the outsider and got treated as such in front of others. Never cared for school after. I now no over lots of years, there are a few bad teachers, thank god for ALL the GREAT ONES including your mom.

I am a teacher who loves to sing- I’m inspired by Kelly AND her mom!

my dad was a teacher for more than 30 years.. then even after he retired, he still tutor kids until he passed away.. he did not have a great aspiration to become a teacher at first.. he became a teacher because it was the ONLY job option that his dad approved of (he was offered a job as a cop, a chemist, etc).. but he grew to love the job so much that he spent so much.. he could write a book about his experience coz his school had a lot of "problems".. and he also did a lot of things to help his fellow teachers that got him in hot waters with the school board etc..
