You nailed this! It's great to work with you in this legendary battle between two great vocalists! And everyone pls be friendly on the comments! Both queens deserve appreciation and love!!
Two incredible singers! They have extremely similar ranges, Tori just has a softer, slightly brighter voice, whereas Kelly has a bigger, slightly darker voice.
Lows: Pretty much tie. I'm not sure. Belted/Mixed: Kelly. She is the queen of belts! Upper Register: Honestly, much closer than I thought, but I'm going with Tori or tie. Power: Kelly Runs/Riffs: Tori These two are just amazing! Easily the best in the game right now. ✨🧡 Looking forward to hearing more of their lovely voices
It’s very hard to find another girly that beats Tori in the D3-D5 range. That’s where her voice sounds best, which is why I’ll die calling her a coloratura mezzo. Kelly takes pretty much everything above D5. Tori historically started straining after D5, but she’s gotten a lot better recently. There’s still a lot of tension above D5, but much less than there used to be. Kelly takes head voice too. Kelly has supported up to C6 in head voice, and consistently supports up to Bb5. Tori really tends to strain in her head voice starting around A5. It sort of sounds stylistic though. It’s a tie on whistles. Both have shown they can readily access that part of their voice, but don’t do it a lot anyway. This leads to their total vocal range being a bit disconnected. Why did you stop the belts at A5 though? Doesn’t Tori have some alleged belts up to B5?
@@randall4528Tori does still have tension and issues keeping a stable larynx in her belts above Eb5. The very first Eb5 example in this video shows her obvious tongue tension. She’s gotten better, but it is still very obvious when you compare it to Kelly’s belts. Her head voice is sometimes very throaty above A5, which is why people think she’s mixing sometimes. It may be stylistic though.
My opinion: C#3 - Tori Eb3 - DEFINITELY TORI LOL E3 - Tori F3 - Tori F#3 - tie G3 - Kelly G#3 - Tori A3 - Kelly A4 - tie Bb4 - Kelly B4 - Tori C5 - Kelly C5 - Kelly (THE RESONANCE OMG) C#5 - tie C#5 - Tori D5 - tie (both resonant af) D5 - Kelly Eb5 - Kelly (Tori nailed it but it’s kelly’s money note along with F#5, you know 😭) Eb5 - Kelly E5 - Kelly E5 - Kelly (the perfect belt doesn’t exi-) E5 - Kelly F5 - Kelly F5 - Kelly F5 - Tori (INSANE) F#5 - Kelly G5 - Kelly G#5 - Kelly A5 - tie A5 - Kelly Bb5 - tie B5 - Kelly C6 - Kelly C#6 - Tori Eb6 - Kelly (Tori nailed it too 😭) F#6 - tie (one word: iconic) C7 - tie (THE VIBRATO ON KELLY’S)
Tori wins lows, but Kelly is really solid down there for a high soprano. Mid belts went back and forth between who won. Tori has some good D5's, but this is where she starts to have technical issues. Kelly leaves her in the dust at this point. More or less the same for head voice. Kelly is much more developed in this area. Tori had some decent moments though. Whistle was close, leaning more F#6 for Tori, and C7 for Kelly. Tori has insane agility. But Kelly has a much nicer tone(imo). She is more versatile, has better vibrato, and I feel more when Kelly sings. And imo, Kelly is the better technician. She has good, to great development in all areas of her voice. No disrespect to Tori, she is great by today's standards, but Kelly is up there with the all time greats.
This is my opinion: Low Notes - C#3: Tori (Kelly's was REALLY good though 😍😍😍) Eb3: Tori E3: Tori F3: Tie F#3: Tie G3: Tie G#3: Tie A3: Tie Belts - A4: Tori Bb4: Kelly B4: Tie C5: Tie C5: Kelly C#5: Tie C#5: Kelly D5: Tori D5: Tori Eb5: Tie Eb5: Tie E5: Tie E5: Tie E5: Tie F5: Kelly F5: Kelly F5: Kelly F#5: Tie F#5: Kelly ATE AND LEFT NO CRUMBS F#5: Kelly G5: Tie G5: Kelly G5: Kelly OMG G#5: Tori G#5: Kelly G#5: Tie A5: Tori Upper Register - A5: Kelly Bb5: Kelly B5: Kelly C6: Tie C#6: Tie D6: Tori Eb6: Kelly F#6: Tori C7: Tori Lows - Tori > Kelly Belts - Kelly > Tori Upper Register - Kelly > Tori Kelly has 33 points and Tori has 29 points! Kelly wins! Tori is still DEFINITELY a stellar vocalist though and she has only been improving since the beginning of her career.
@@vanshmishra7119 Yes I completely understand all of what you are saying. But Tori DOES NOT beat Kelly. Kelly has a far more developed belt and head voice than Tori. Musicianship is a sign of vocal creativity, not vocal technique and ONLY vocal technique matters in this case. Fyi, Kelly’s dynamics are just as good as Tori’s, if not better. The only things Tori really has over Kelly are lows and vocal agility. Kelly is a way more well rounded vocalist because all of her registers are good but Tori lacks development in the upper register, often opting for a falsetto instead of using a thick head voice.
opppssss😅 it’s so hard to comment on this two but as you know my queen is Kelly Clarkson!🙌🏻 but with due respect to Tori they’re both good! But nothing could ever beat my queen. Sorry not so sorry. But anyway this is just me. And bc of this I would watch Tori Kelly Purple Skies Asia Tour. It’s your fault Gab!😂😅 nice video btw!
In My Opinion: C#3 - Tori Eb3 - Tori E3 - Tori F3 - Tie F#3 - Tori G3 - Tori G#3 - Tori A3 - Kelly A4 - Tori Bb4 - Tori B4 - Tori C5 - Tori C#5 - Tori D5 - Tori Eb5 - Tori E5 - Tie F5 - Tori F#5 - Tie G5 - Kelly G#5 - Tori A5 - Tori A5 - Tori Bb5 - Kelly B5 - Kelly C6 - Tori C#6 - Tori D6 - Tie Eb6 - Tori F#6 - Tori C7 - Kelly
@@doctorits 😍🥰 sim, faço questão! 🥰😍❤️ Vou levar duas caixas de lenço, uma pra mim outra pra ti, porque prevejo que a gente vai chorar um bocadinho, do jeito que a gente é! 😭🎼🎵😍🥰
I will not doubt Tori's talent She can really sing she has a huge range or whatever reason she does not do well when it comes to garnering attention or record sales or whatever they call it these days. Also Tori has a very strong tendency to scream and there's a very fine line between belting and screaming she's capable of both I'm not going to deny that but she has a tendency to screen more and she's very very nasal. Tori definitely stays leaning towards the r&b pop side as well so it's hard to compare and frankly do we need to pin two talented women up against each other? Kelly wins hands down to me and really the deciding factor is the nasal sound. I don't think I've ever heard Kelly go into a nasal tone
Tori in this video, by far. I can only think of maybe 4 notes at the most that Kelly won. My guess is you wanted to showcase Kelly's underutilized clips?
It really just boils down to whether riffs/runs are a big thing for you or not, imo, bc they both have very similar tones and ranges. One just does a lot more runs than the other. For me, there needs to be a balance. Like I know KC can do runs very well but she chooses not to do them often. I wish she’d do them a little more frequently, but I also appreciate that she doesn’t need to do them. It seems like KC’s technique may be just a little bit better. They are both great singers and both deserve our respect. They just have different styles in which they choose to sing. I appreciate them both! KC is my queen, but I also like Tori’s voice a lot! 💕
@@doctoritsyeah I’ve heard her do some great runs & she definitely has a lot of agility! She just chooses not to do them a lot. As to where Tori does them A LOT. I do wish KC would do them just a little bit more often though bc they always sound great when she does. I wouldn’t want it to be all she did either though. That’s all I was saying lol. But yeah I do know the shorter trills that you’re talking about as well.
