@@takemyhand1988 Kelly’s voice is so full that I initially classified her as a contralto with range but I think she is a 2nd soprano. It’s just full dark and rich with a rasp now.
Stop calling her an alto -- alto is a choral classification NOT a vocal classification. And besides, she's not even a contralto as they are the rarest female voice types. She's at best a mezzo-soprano, and at worse a soprano.

Kelly Price is a mezzo soprano with a heavier chest voice that sounds richer like that of an alto. Believe it or not, Melanie Daniel’s voice (also another mezzo) is slightly higher than Kelly’s and can hit much higher notes in her chest voice but also reaches deeper notes as well.

This is a bit silly. Mariah is part of her own history, so she has every right to either cover her or reminisce songs she did background over. Your friend's enemies shouldn't necessarily be yours. I love Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston and love the fact that Kelly Price got to experience both at a personal level.
@@401wcollman That why is she should have been grateful as not everyone gets to experience to work for and with either Mariah and Whitney, she should have been respectful and grateful. Instead she chose to be messy by shading Mariah and not even had the guts to so said and straight up lied when asked. Girl has some amazing vocals, but her messy personality is indicative on why she never went anywhere apart from being Whitney and Mariah's backing vocals.

@@axelito6342 Yes she did but Mariah is no Soul singer compared to Kelly Price who grew up in Church singing Gospel and unlike Mariah who grew up emulating singers that sang in Church " no shade". If you can listen closesly to Mariah Carey's gospel songs she has a choir to emphasis or enhance the song whereas kelly doesn't need any she sings with soul, just like Whitney, Aretha, Jennifer, Keke, Faith , Fantasia....
0:02 I don't know why but anyone who sings a Mariah song doesn't sound good compared to her. Every tone sounds really ugly in comparison, her buttery tone is unmatched, this is the only explanation. 0:39 even singing Whitney's songs Kelly price sounds much better, it sounds like she can do the song justice but with Mariah this never happens.
