I first saw this lineup at Kelly's band at a concert in Vegas right after Meaning of Life was released. Absolutely love this band. Great combination and chemistry for Kelly.

It’s so nice to hear that a band FIRST finds what key the song should be in for Kelly. My band just got mad at me all the time for needing a different key than the original but I now see that they should’ve already known what I could or couldn’t sing.

Such an awesome behind the scenes video! Thanks so much y’all! I know that I definitely enjoyed learning about everyone’s personalities a little bit, and how y’all go about things on a daily basis. I don’t know why I didn’t know until now that Kelly Clarkson calls her band y’all. Every time she would say, “give it up for my band y’all!“ I thought she was addressing the crowd as y’all. But in my defense, I have only become a really really really major Kelly Clarkson fan when Meaning of Life was released. That changed everything for me.

I had seen house bands from talk shows before. The amazing band that backs up Kelly Clarkson---is, in summary, modernly funky, and from hearing their band's "sign-off music" that is loaded with up-tempo funk grooves finishing with a coup-de-grace "crash out", I have a hunch that this band was inspired by the funk sounds of "The Posse", which was the house band for the Arsenio Hall Show - yea, the one partially led by keyboardist Starr Parodi. Another inspiration for Kelly's band was probably the smaller funk band that backed up Donny and Marie Osmand in the "Donna and Marie" show.

They should’ve mentioned that Kelly’s bassist Kyle Whalum is THE Kirk Whalum’s son! Kirk Whalum is a world renowned saxophonist who toured with Whitney Houston for 7 years & played the iconic saxophone parts in “I Will Always Love You” 🤩

I was hoping that her band would have a specific name instead of just “My Band Y’all.” I know that sounds funny, but you can’t just randomize a name and pick it for a band. You have got to have names in particular like Brad Arnold has a band named 3 Doors Down, Adam Levine has a band called Maroon 5, Johnny Gioeli has 2 bands named Hardline & Crush 40, Chad Kroeger has a band named Nickelback, and so on.
