If he wasn't ready to fully forgive Kelsey and move forward with a clean slate he should have just gone with the trainer girl. He couldn't admit that to himself. @Chan wong depends on what the couple decides is cheating. The girl clearly had interest in Garret, knew she over stepped her bounds, Garret allowed those boundaries to be crossed. He had an obligation to his partner to make her feel secure in their relationship then went and did it anyway because he gaslighted the girl into feeling more guilty about something he was supposed to move on from in the first place. He cheated by overstepping that boundary. If he wanted a true clean slate that means forgiving and letting go. Garret forgave to get back and it shows. Their relationship is toxic in that sense. It's sad because he was a good guy. He just couldn't resolve the past and lied to try to salvage the past but get back at it all at the same time. Even went so to specifically hurt ole girl.... If Garret had any intention of continually his path and commitment to Kelsey, he would respect that boundary. He did not. That is cheating.
