The costumes and the dance are not greek certainly not ancient Greek. DNA tests showed that Lazes/Georgians are genetically Middle Eastern. And you refer to the so-called Pontic Greeks who are for the most part hellenized Laz, Armenian and Turkish Christians (as well as others). Pontian is 20th century neologism and it's result of the Greek Megalli Idea. I am a bit annoyed when fanatical Greek and Turkish nationalists claim other cultural traditions as their own.
