Thank you very much for this conversation, I learned some interesting things, and also confirmed my own experiences as a therapist dealing with shame and "seeing it everywhere" too! However, I am at my wit's end trying to find an effective way to work with shame while having virtual sessions with all my patients. I wonder if it really makes a difference to be seated in front of a therapist in the flesh or not. I am beginning to doubt myself about not having a physical office anymore, but over 60% of my patients are spread around the globe. I just wanted to see if I am alone in this situation and what the colleagues are doing to deal with this problem of virtuality not being equal to reality. And of course, how are the colleagues dealing with shame in therapy. Thank you!
