And we're left with misery now. Two Ronnie's, Brucie, Bob Monkhouse, Des O'Connor, Kenneth Williams, Bernard Manning, Frank Carson...all gone but no one to follow in their footsteps. Only politically correct, left wing boredom.
A man I grew up with and saw live with my family when we was young you showed me happiness and now I’m heartbroken you are no longer here. RIP ken Dodd thank you so much for all the memories. Xxx
The overall impression Ken Dodd gives is that of utter sweetness of character. Whether singing with that glorious voice or being so funny without ever a trace of malice or vulgarity, he exudes kindness, razor-sharp wit, and true love for others that is the deepest wisdom. A lovely, lovely man.
Sir Ken Dodd, a Gift from God to a broken world at a time when people all over the world are suffering, as they always have, but at times more than others. God bless this gentleman for having left us with such a magnificent legacy that it just keeps on giving, year in and year out, never wavering! Thanks to the 'Powers that be' that keep this beautiful entertainment available to us. Our sincere thanks! Jess.
What a great song, done full justice by one of the all time great entertainers. As well as being a great comic, Doddy could belt out some good songs too. What a legend he was.
What a gift of Happiness was Ken Dodd, not only able to keep us laughing well into the early hours at his live shows but that plaintive voice...absolute genius.

A master at work, never is a long time but I don't believe there will ever be a greater comic to grace the stage. And a great singer of his time. RIP Sir Ken.

Who better to sing this song than Ken Dodd? It is as if he was born at this particular time for this particular type of entertainment. Everything is 'right', perfect even, about his presentation. His voice, his appearance and genuine humanity and humility. I listen to this rendition often. It reminds me of what life could be like,.. should be like,.. even would be like if we were all on the same path. Thank you Lord for the gift, of Sir Ken Dodd. He was sorely needed, and this was evidenced by the many thousands of people who loved him, and still do. Rest in peace, Sir Kenneth.
He will!! He will live in the hearts of everyone who has ever listened to him singing, met him personally, watched him on screen or read a book about him. He will never be forgotten. God bless him, because he was a blessing to everyone who was fortunate enough to know of him.
This is the best rendition of Ralphs words ... Ken could take the laughter and the tears and share such emotion rarely seen from entertainment ... a true pro sadly missed
Such a talented performer. Not only the best comic of his generation but he can also put over a poignant song. How many of our current performers can equal this talent?
Indeed - an incredible star and human being - we shall not see his like again. God bless you Sir Ken, your legacy of joy and laughter lives on forevermore. XXX

Ken Dodds was part of all this as were some great ones. Sadly all gone now. RIP Sir Ken Dodd. Thoo was a gradely un
I am sure you will make them laugh in heaven. If only more comedians were like you instead of the modern variety who only rely on bad language for laughs.
“Oh how can you tell me you’re lo-only, and say for him that the sun don’t shine. Let me take you by the hand and I’ll show you something, that’ll make you change your mind.” A song can change character depending on the artist and their take/style on a song. This is the version that changes your mind, reminds you that you’re not alone and lets the sun shine. Just thought some people on this comments section need to remember that.
