Isn't vitamin c one of the few vitamins/minerals that your body can excrete in body waste if there is too much in your system
@notoyaarthur1990
@notoyaarthur1990 Год назад
This is true. Vitamin C and B r water soluble. If u take an excess, most likely u will simply pee it out. However, a large dose at once could have some side effects like nausea, vomiting, etc, simply because ur body hasnt had sufficient time to get rid of it. But generally, if you're taking an excess overtime, ur body will just get rid of it in urine.
@RaulRamirez1
@RaulRamirez1 10 месяцев назад
Yea technically speaking you can never get an excess of vitamin c since as the previous person mentioned it’s water soluble. Often at times it does no harm to take the vitamin, because if in excess you will excrete it and if you lack vitamin c your Body will consume it. Vitamin B and C are water soluble and vitamin A, D, E, and K are fat soluble vitamins. Fat soluble vitamins are those your body can store.

The bioavailability of vitamins varies greatly depending on the vitamin and what molecules are attached, and making the blanket statement that you should take 100% RDA of all vitamins tells me he does not know very much on this topic. Also, some vitamins are toxic in excessive concentrations, but vitamin C is water soluble and will do absolutely no damage in very high doses. Same with B12. B6, iron, and D on the other hand can cause serious issues when overdosed.
