One of the best of the new traditional country sound that started in the late 80s and early 90s. A thousand times better than the countrypop and bro country of today.
I couldn't agree more with you... I just don't know or understand how most of this trash being played today on country music stations is even considered to be country music!!!
Ik this is a super late reply to your question but he basically had this song and "i can bring her back" then his next album "where forever begins" had "rub a dubbin"... after that he wasn't getting a push from his record label so he switched but by that time which was late 90's to early 2000's the music scene had changed and he just failed to have a song that really caught onto the mainstream,he still performs at smaller events and such and can absolutely still sing good enough to record ...as i say one of the purest voices I've ever heard
Best country concert I ever seen was Ken Mellons in Campbelltown Pa, that's saying alot I seen a lot of greats from George Jones, Alabama to Garth.I wish this style of country was still alive, Great Song
So many 90's country stars looked alike with that mullet/mustache/cowboy hat combo...Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Ken Mellons, Jeff Carson, Tim McGraw and several others all rocked that look, haha.
I bought this cd when it first came out and kept it for years. Unfortunately, it went missing. Today, I buy another for Ken's voice. Plus, I am a Jukebox Junkie. :)
Girkadirk I'm so glad I'm not the only person who noticed that! When rock music became lame and depressing in the 90's, country became the fun genre of music again. Lots of people look back on 80s hair metal as a bad time, but I completely disagree. The 80s were the peak of rock music, in my opinion.
Man this takes me back......1999 only 5 years old, sitting in the back of my dad's truck on a long roadtrip, singing my heart out whenever this song played XD
@@cornhuskerfever Yes,James Dean is a legend but why would you post that in a comment on a 90s country video? It would be more appropriate on a video of Dean?🤔🤨😳😜😁
Love this when it first came out, still love it,.a 20yr. tune but makes ya so happy..and I'm one of those ones who don't like Country any more,.just the older tunes..
Your song is on my jukebox! What a great tune to rock with. I just love the words, makes me think our spirits may have caught each other as this is my life...................May God continue to bless your path and may The Lord Bless the United States of America and especially we thank you for our new admiration
...brings back some great memories! Ken Mellons was one of the best in country. This song totally kicks ass. Wish I got to go to a Ken Mellons concert. I went to a lot of country shows back in the day. I've been to the BorderLine Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks. Cool to see it in the video.
This song is great! I have been bugging my wife and my employees with this song but I love it! It doesn't have love, heartbreak,or drinking to me that is refreshing.
Just randomly typed this into youtube and I found this. I was thinking about this song but had no idea who sang it and just how old it was. I was thinking 95 but it was 93/94 when I heard it on K 92 FM in Orlando FL when I was 6 years old. Good memories!!!! :) I'm really glad to hear this music again.
What's odd is even today at bars, it just seems to be too damn quiet when the jukebox isn't playing, no matter what kind of music it is. So in a way we are all jukebox junkies...and there's no cure for this addiction
