Interesting idea! Having a method to agitate various (non-alcoholic) liquids inside the smoker might be useful. Though, it would need to be battery-powered and suitable to operate in a hot environment...
Question about the Forge Clear Ice System - the sphere is gorgeous, perfectly shaped, but in this video, it's completely cloudy. So it just has me wondering, at that price point, if that was more of a freezing issue, or did the Forge do something to cause the cloudiness? Really neat gadget though for sure! (I'm still rocking my original release FirstBuild Opal Nugget Ice maker, btw. Thing is a tank!)
The Original Forge Clear Ice system also included a clear ice maker for purchase, which created perfectly clear ice gems that were then pressed into spheres. The ice makers are no longer available, only the press itself, which now includes molds for ice gems that you fill and put in the freezer. In order to get that perfectly clear ice, the ice itself has to be created under very specific conditions inside the ice maker, (which is no longer produced) hence why it was cloudy in the video. Hope that makes sense.
Not sure it was clear in the video, but I did strain the butter/water mixture after smoking to remove the milk solids. You could just as easily start with clarified butter. I think changing the ratio of water-to-butter might help improve the flavor. I'm still tweaking that one!
