Great video Mark and what an awesome layout Ken. It makes mine look like a loop in the dirt, LOL. It was funny that the retired guy couldn't remember what day it is. Must me nice!!

Impressive! Nice job Ken, and all who helped! So sorry I can't make it to the club meeting for your "opener". I would have loved to be there. (Thanks Mark, for the video.)

Beautiful layout! My wife and I (mostly me) are starting to build the layout around our backyard pond in Mountlake Terrace this summer. Good to see local inspiration. I've had a loop in the basement ceiling for years that will get tied in one day, maybe I could come take a look at this layout or get some of you experienced folks out for a visit this summer. I've committed on battery power to my locos and RC controls but I've heard pneumatics are the way to go for turnouts, love to hear all about it some time. Thanks for the video.

Very cool, I am "Dead Rail" too, as are most of our club members. Have you visited may of the other railroads in the area?

@@gardenrailroading No we haven't. We need to get out this summer and see some for sure.

Hi, not familiar with MTS?

What a great layout. Love the multiple loops and the logging segment. Hope mine gets that big some day. Is the switch station meant to stay outside? I want to put something like that in that's semi-permament and not sure what type switches to use. Or try to make a protective cover for it.

Hi! Yes the switch stand will be out all year, just covered to keep the wood sides in good shape. Ken has said he will paint the wood. The top is made of a plastic like poly that can weather any kind of weather. As for which type of switches to use, I like LGB electrics. This is the first time I have ever helped anyone install Air Pneumatic switches and I worry about how well they will over winter? Where is your railroad located in this old world. We are in the Pacific Northwest on Washington State.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm in Virginia, so rain and humidity are main threats.
@gardenrailroading

@@coastaltitansrailroad We have the rain problem too, just not the humidity. Have you posted videos or photos of your railroad?
@coastaltitansrailroad
@coastaltitansrailroad 5 месяцев назад
@gardenrailroadingjointhefu3379 yes, I have videos of the railroad on my channel @coastaltitansrailroad. I also have LGB turn outs on the layout and one of many projects is to control them from a central hub. Are the toggle switches weather-proof or are you and Ken expecting the cover to protect them? I might be over thinking how rugged it needs to be😀

@@coastaltitansrailroad Hi Again, yes the switch throws appear to be weather resistant, however he will be making a cover for them. For the time being he is just covering them with a plastic tarp after we are done running trains.
