Gerald, you were good enough to do a cap and tube job for me on a hot rod deville about 4 years ago when I was stationed at fort Hood. You were so nice to me. About a year ago I saw a K-15 on reverb.com. I bought it! I am a loyal fan! Thank you so much for your kindness. You didn't have to help me but you took the time and I have been singing your praises ever since. I now live in San Antonio and use the "K" every day. Great chops and a nice big room to play in......reminds me of the basement of my dads building....he was an RCA dealer. Can't tell if you are shooting from a smart phone or a handycam…..great mic to capture all that. The bias meter is quite novel.....I was building a few amps with diode clipping and liked the LED's as clippers for the smoothness and since they glow.....I used a devils head with the LED's as eyes Keep up the good work
Great sounding amp! Let me guess: body=vol, boom=bass, shine=middle, slice=treble? Well, perhaps not exactly, of course. I absolutely love the bias pot right there on top (I wish you'd demoed it in the vid). You've worked your magic once again, Gerald. I hope you sell your Double Trouble amps like hotcakes!
Today I just re-installed my old Kendrick Black frame 12" I bought new way back in the mid 90's. It's the first version with the smooth trombone shaped cone. I don't think there was/is any other speaker like it made by any of the manufactures. I get a tone like Clapton on Beano with that speaker. I had tried an expensive Celestion alnico "Cream" speaker in it, the Beano tone disappeared, go figure because Clapton's Marshall combo definitely had Celestions in it. I've have also tried a Celestion Green back in it, and no more Beano. I was thinking about buying a Celestion Gold alnico, and finally decided "hey, why not put back the friggin' Kendrick?"
