"I live in circadian rhythms of a shooting star, the mannerisms of Raphael, I can heal and give you art" what kind of man puts this poetry in a diss track???
I keep coming back to this track. It really hit me deep especially the part where he was literally putting his fate on God asking for his blessing to fight the war. Apparently going against Drake is literally fighting the machinery behind him and tha would come at some personal cost to Kendrick but he his willing to fight cuz he believes he's fighting a just cause for Hip Hop and culture. Much respect for this man.
I swear every time one of them drops a song, somehow give Kendrick's more weight. All the way from Like That, it's like this man knew how it would play out.
@@Nick-ok4eqhe was 100 steps ahead I bet he planned this shit in 2010 knowing how much drake a snake 🤣 Every bar is deeper than drakes whole career it's insane
Yeah it’s super dope but I see people put it at the bottom of the k dot diss track list. Honestly I get it. Its not uploaded to his main channel and was basically used as bait. I still think it’s incredible, though. Love the beat and flows
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 Nah bro, it wasn't a bait. Kendrick knew Drake was planning on dropping that night and knew what he was planning to say. This was the last warning to stop.
@@Ihtamubna huh? it already aged like milk and makes him a hypocrite. "im a better man than you i dont dig for dirt!" next song... "OVO is working for me and theyre whispering!" next song... "you have an 11 year old daughter!" next song " uhhh well that blew up in my face sooo, youre a pedo! haha!" (while refusing to address any allegations) idk how any objective person can say that kendrick didnt get embarrassed in this beef. drake was also simply rapping better lol.
sounds good but makes him a hypocrite and a liar lol. "im a better man than you i dont dig for dirt!" next song... "OVO is working for me and theyre whispering!" next song... "you have an 11 year old daughter!" next song " uhhh well that blew up in my face sooo, youre a pedo! haha!" - 6/16, the date Father’s Day falls on in 2024 - 6/16, the birthday of 2Pac - 6/16, the day when the first season of “Euphoria”, the show Drake executive produced, premiered in 2019. A show that’s infamous for s3xualizing teens. Kendrick really a meticulous mf😂 Edit: - 6/16, the date the OJ Simpson murder trial was submitted in LA in 1994. This is relevant because the cover art for the diss is a picture of a single glove, and a glove was famously presented as evidence in the case. So this is the date Kendrick is submitting his murder trial (for the murder of Drake). This entendre was added with the help of analysis from Genius.
How could someone listen to this and think “ I wanna rap against this person”. This dude just prayed to god before he disses you and made it sound smooth and dangerous all at once.
This song is insane. Him praying before jumping in to the unknown, he knew for a fact his image would be tainted in the process of all of this, shit it might be even more after the fact I type this. But it’s him deciding that exposing some shit and trying to get the people back to consuming what we need and get us trending back toward valuing our values and turning the current culture on its head, I just find it to be very valiant and I remember feeling this song hit my soul when I first listened. There’s something more to take from this than a “Drake diss” “There’s opportunity when living with loss I discover myself when I fall short”
You nailed it. That prayer line gives me goosebumps every time. "Who am I if I don't go to war?" He transcends the beef and shows its more about what he feels is right.
All righteous men in the Bible consult God before going to war. It was the very reason Saul got axed as king of Israel. The fact that he writes it in this track is absolutely epic and shows you his reverence for God. That’s dope af fo real!
Meanwhile, J. Cole just received the bird house he ordered from Amazon last week and he's sitting on his backyard patio reading the assembly instructions.
Even though people rank this diss at the bottom of his drake diss tracks I still think this is the dopest SONG song of all of them. These flows and this beat are fantastic
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 I have the wildly unpopular opinion that Not Like Us was the weakest of the 5. Like yeah it's a fucking bop but Kendrick fucking dissected the dude with a surgeon's precision in all of it's predecessors to the point where Not Like Us was just Kenny dancing on his grave.
@@TheBrandoGR Not Like Us is literally a grave dancing song, it has the same energy as when people in West Africa dance whilst carrying a coffin at burials
I honestly think it’s simply because it’s not on Kendrick Lamar‘s main channel. Like musically and as far as lyrics and flow, it’s probably the best or close to it, but people rank it at the bottom simply because it got overshadowed by family matters and like i said it not being on dots channel
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 it’s deeper than that for me and others who have given their opinions and anyone who wants to have this song can easily download it. It’s 2024.
@@kinproductions8873It didn’t start there. That when enough was enough for all parties involved. If there’s a beef between celebs, most likely there’s been one for a lot longer.
At first I hated this song but now it grew on me. Now I actually like it and enjoy hearing it. I can see why it got overlooked by euphoria, family matters, and meet the grahams but this is still an underrated gem
I didn't realize it at the time it came out, but this is the most insightful, most important song in this beef. 0:57-1:40. Kendrick is explaining why he has to go through with this battle. It's as if god was speaking through him that it must be done. We all know Kendrick is gifted as a lyricist, but he knows it too. And using that gift with his passion for peace and love, only justifies his need to expose the untruths and lies told by the industry, in this case Drake. Self-conviction and self-actualization at it's finest. "The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by those who are bad people, but the silence over that by the those who are good.
J. Cole is just enjoying his morning coffee, both hands on the mug that says "#1 Dad" as he takes the first sip, pulls back and lets out a relieved "Ahhhhhhhh"
JCole woke up this morning with a smile on his face, danced in sunshine and rainbows, and then rode his bike around NYC in peace knowing he avoided this whole beef 😂 Update: Cole seen meditating in Times Square
J Cole scrolling uber eats right now saying, "Babe? Pepper steak or dumplings?" as he turns to himself and whispers while doing a little dance and says, "Why not both?!" ;-)
@@yo3rdtier128Like a diss song has any other meaning other than attacking a emcee lmao. If you want to shake your ass go listen to that gay white boy drake.😂
This isn't even a diss. This is honestly a heads up to Drake. Clear out your camp. Stop surrounding yourself with so many people. A good percentage of them want to see you fall.
I like to listen to this song solely because the beginning is so angelic. He’s not diabolical, or on his demon shit, he’s straight up on his angelic shit. I want to elevate
kendrick dropping this to bait drake into dropping again so that he could have a reason to drop meet the grahams is such a villain mastermind move😭😭 Edit: can you guys stop telling me that I was wrong? Like I get it. Respectfully, please stfu now.
circadian rhythms of a shooting star is a fantastic. Most people's lives are dictated by our revolution around the sun. Kendrick flipping that into a shooting star is incredible.
Kendrick dropped at 6:16 Tupac's birthday - 6/16 OJ's case filed - 6/16 (ref: the glove) Father's Day 6/16 Drake asked for multiple entendres, I guess he's getting it.🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dude is talking about jumping planets immortalizing himself and relating this in biblical terms. I would have canceled family matters and ate the video cost 😂😂
in retrospect this song feels like a warning shot of whether or not drake wants to continue this beef. kendrick is essentially saying he KNOWS family matters is going to drop later that day and he is READY to push it further. Drake should have stopped with Pushups if he wanted to come out of this relatively unscathed.
Honestly this was the best diss imo. You can hear the change in his whole demeanor and the attitude of the song @ 1:42 Shit is so fucking sick, he baited him sooo bad.
I swear this song would be so much more popular if they had it out there proper. Like why am I watching this on some random channel and not something official
If y’all haven’t really payed attention to this song then that’s the reason why y’all thought Drake has a chance .. this was the calm before the storm .. he speaking to God about having to shift into a realm he doesn’t really want to.. the build was crazy fam and what came after this Meet The Grahams .. smdh this cat is phenomenal
His raps aren’t what got him the win although I think this and not like us are absolute gas but it was Dots strategy in combination with his raps Drake rapped really good to yall won
@@DoubTmethodic Kendrick has been dropping songs immediately after Drake to keep the conversation on his own. He also seems to be carrying more of Drake's dirt with him, slowly releasing it into the public. The nature of the allegations made have also been far more sinister than anyone expected. Needless to say he didn't need to make banger songs to cook Drake.
Hearing new theories about how dark this song actually is. This was the final "stop talking before i expose everything" moment. The sounds at the beginning are believed to be ventilator noises, which is related to the "receipt" video that was posted. This whole thing is deep and idk if he's an actual psychopath rapper or we're way too creative.
The backing track is so pleasing to the ear sonically especially when it gets atmospheric and "spacey" a minute in while he's talking about jumping planets. I could listen to this for hours.
I think he might. I think the trial of the glove not fitting would make sense in this. Like maybe meaning Drake is going to try play innocent like OJ. And the glove on the cover too.
I think this my fav song of the beef, "tell me who gon' stop me? I come from love" if the second half didnt ovo disses, this could really be an album cut
@@AngelPerez-uu1okpeople condemned Cole for making a half hearted, mediocre diss he didn’t even genuinely believe. He thought that this beef was still for sport, then backed out when he realized these dudes damn near want to kill each other.
@@AngelPerez-uu1ok Cole didn't outright diss kendrick, cole did half disses then said "erm it's a warning shot lil bro" kendrick is ripping into him then saying it's a warning because he could say worse
