Drake’s tracks sound like he’s trying to make Kendrick seem lesser than him. Kendrick’s tracks sound like he’s trying to erase the man’s entire legacy. The whole battle is about Dichotomy. Drake is doing this for his brand. Kendrick is quite literally doing this for Hip Hop culture. Just compare their levels of artistry. Look how Kendrick continually switches styles while Drake is a one trick pony. Look at the significance of the producers they used and compare how effective each beat was in conveying a message. Compare the surface level bars to the deep soul wrenching poetry. Kendrick is artistry/ culture. Drake is Hollywood. Even though Drake makes great pop music, theres levels to this. Kendrick is a GREAT Hip Hop ambassador.
Well said. Kdot definitely the goat. He let Drake gain millions of fans through the years just to come and take them all and evict Drake from rap/the USA over one weekend.
The night that this tracked dropped was insane. Drake dropped Family Matters, then about half an hour later Kendrick dropped Meet The Grahams and it completely overshadowed Family Matters. And then less than a day later, Kendrick blessed us with Not Like Us, which is breaking streaming records and playing in every club in America. Even the NBA used it as a transition song, as well as some of the arenas playing it during commercial breaks for the audience in the stands. It's literally everywhere lol. I can just imagine Drake trying to watch a basketball game only to get smacked in the face by Not Like Us within 5 minutes of turning on his TV.
you kinda misinterpreted Kendricks message about getting pissed on. it wasn't that far off, but there was just a much better way to explain it as a principle being taught to a young boy. DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR. better to die a man than to live a coward.
