I think it should be clarified that Kendrick isn’t calling anyone else out, he’s calling out Drake for stealing from the culture for his own benefit and success; but he’s not calling out the ones Aubrey steals from. KDot has always said just be who you really are stop trying to cosplay as street or a thug. Aubrey should have stuck to what Lil Wayne told him early on and just kept it Canadian!
Welllll, yes Drake is being called out for disrespecting the Black culture and the people the genre came from, cosplaying, culture vulturing for sure. But let's be real, the colonizing by Drake has been by done others the world over with just as much disrespect. Hip Hop, Rap, Gangsta Rap, Trap, Conscious Rap, R & B, Soul, Neo-Soul, Jazz, Pop, all the ways we dance, to name a few. They copy and then trash us behind the scenes in their zones. " Not Like Us" literally is what the culture is feeling.
@@levette284 I totally agree; my point is that I just don’t like the simplified narrative some are trying to make of Kendrick, that he’s just saying Drake isn’t really Black. Kendrick is making a much larger point about Drake only being Black when it suits him and also him being fake hood Black; we all know there is no one way to be Black, but Aubrey doesn’t! Drake is literally culturally appropriating the way white folks do and benefiting from us but not doing anything for us; showing he’s not like us!
Kendrick did do some acting on a show called Power and did AMAZING!! And there are receipts for everything he said on this song. Nobody has denied anything he stated..... Also watch What's The Dirt channel. He's very thorough about whats going on between these two!
@@ricardoalvarez8415 Agreed. I like the voice inflections but its kinda overplayed now I like when he just raps in his normal voice. Or if hes going to change tones keep it that tone the voice cracks can get annoying
To correct, this "Family Matters" didn't drop seconds after "euphoria". It came out 3 days later on a Friday night. And before it came out, Kendrick dropped another diss that morning called "6:16 in LA". In that track, he told Drake that there was a leak or a rat in his camp, and that he needs to look at the people that he surrounds himself with. WHAT DID HAPPEN, Is that 20 minutes after "Family Matters" came out, Kendrick dropped "meet the grahams", and it completely overshadowed this song The very next day (almost like 10 hours later), Kendrick would drop "Not Like Us" To prove to the online critics that he can still make his point of taking Drake down while also making a banger. Drake responded way later the next day with a track called "The Heart Part 6". That would be the last track of this beef. I only feel the need to correct, so that you all can understand that Kendrick was playing a completely different game with his strategy. Anyways, love the reactions!
At least at the beginning, they lude to the fact that they didn't know what was going on and it really showed. It was still entertaining keep doing you, you guys.
Honestly, Drake started the fight... He was attacking Kendricks family and sneak dissing for awhile now... Kendrick just finished the fight.. then killed him.. then buried him... then had everyone C walk on his grave with Not like us.. 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
BRUH WHY HAVENT PEOPLE MADE A ANIMATED TV SERIES ABOUT RAPPERS BATTLING IT OUT AND USING THEIR ALBUM NAMES AS ULTIMATES AND THEIR BEST HITS AS ATTACK NAMES
I mean there is that video of Drake kissing that 17 year old on stage and the "bUt tHe aGE OF ConsENt" people are trying to defend him. Also, if you're someone who says its OK just because a law said so, you need to check your morals or drive to the prison yourself lol. 1. not all laws were made for our safety in mind (especially further back you go in history and I'm not just talking about the heavy stuff). 2. You look like an opportunistic predator lol. It's like if the age of consent was 14, you'd still defend that just because you think it's technically legal...? People also don't get how age of consent works. There's age of consent meaning what is the legal adult age VS what age you can be sexually active IN GENERAL, NOT the minimum age under 18 and adult can be with. E.g. if age of consent is 16, a 16 and 17 can be intimate. NOT a 16 y.o and an adult.
You would ABSOLUTELY sue Kendrick for calling you a pedophile and predator and doubling and tripling down on it. That’s not typical diss track stuff, that’s accusing him of being the worst thing you can be. That’s messing with a lot of people’s money. Kendrick Lamar knows he’s safe saying this because he has one or more reliable sources and pieces of evidence. The rest is up to the Feds. UMG asked Kendrick to say that his words were just rap beef and not serious and he refused. There is now a deal that as long as Drake doesn’t utter any more bs about Kendrick, Kendrick will stop calling him a pedophile. That’s bad. They know it’s true and they let KL set the terms ultimately. “The Embassy bout to get raided too, it’s only a matter of time.”
