yes it totally ruins the show - I couldn't even listen. America is dumb, our president can spew racist bullshit, we can televise bombing other countries live and show unlimited violence, but god forbid somebody says the word 'dick'
I honestly did not know about Kendrick Lamar and his music untilI saw this show on Austin City Limits a few years ago...its was EPIC! I’m in my early 50’s...and I love him! His lyrics are incredible and the music creates a true vibe...he never disappoints...love his musicianship✨💥
Never thought 10 years later ID be listening to this and live to see the day I’m doing some random dance stuff to this with my son in my living room in my own home I own. 👴🏽
So many people forget just how orchestral and GRAND hip-hop used to be. Violins, big horn hits, pianos, heavy guitar riffs, choirs, the whole nine yards.
okay but when he performed ‘these walls ‘ and he started with the guitar THEN he added the bass .. It was already too much for me to handle.. THEN he added the pre chorus .. I had to pause it and breathe bc omg that’s what I needed
I felt that when I heard the dark side of the moon by pink floyd. I forgot which song. I'm not into classic rock. I'm a hip hop head with some punk stuff that i heard growing up with an emo sister that grew out of that phase. I didn't know that classic rock could do that. Tears fell involuntarily. It happened with to pimp a butterfly on the song "u" and the last song on the album.

With Austin City Limits in its 41st season during the 2015-2016 season, as the 40th anniversary of Austin City Limits passed, the show became PBS's highest-rated primetime live music program.👍
As much as I respect the skill it takes to make the lyrics PG-13 and not constantly slip up, I would still prefer to just hear the lyrics as they were written.
tanky Yeah agreed. I like how he’s able to switch up the rhythm and instrumentals of his songs during his performances, but yeah it would’ve been great to hear the second part of u.

Em came from living in a trailer with a drunk mom and no dad to being the greatest rapper of all time. He deserves everything he's got. Not a lot of artists nowadays can't say that.
39:39 Brah! That was the kiss cue right there. She wanted it. She was ready and waiting for it. All you had to do was turn your damned bald head. You tried.
This album was a timeless work of art. It was a voice for the voiceless ... i can't even put how I feel about this album in words ... I can't find enough
*This is the best performance I've ever seen LMAO* Holy hell. I came to watch one song and I ended up watching the entire thing. It was completely captivating!
This album is so amazing. I know DAMN was more of a pure hip album, but this album is so creative and the musicality really pushes boundaries to points that no one has before or since.

I wish more Hip Hop artists performed with an actual band playing. As someone who's more into rock and jazz this appeals to me a lot more than just rapping with a basic beat, it scratches that instrumental itch for me and makes the rapping actually interesting.
