Perk was disrespectful and off base with a lot of his celtics takes since he became a talking head. It went way past avoiding bias. I wasn't sad he got excommunicado'd lol. Props to marcus. I know it tore him up to see them win without him but he showed class. Props to a born celtic for not switching up 💪
When Perkins was commentating for the Celtics he was fair in his criticism. When he went national he jumped the shark and went from thoughtful observer to just being contrarian. It was personal. Disappointed in Perk.
As far as I can recall, it was SMART that Called Out JT and JB for ISO-BALL In that year, SMART's comment turned the season around after ALL STAR Break
Love Smart, but it was obvious he was holding back a few players, particularly Derrick White. Him gone allowed the Jays to take on more of a leadership role (especially JB). Plus he allowed us to get KP who was a cheat code for C's offensively. And to cap things off, the team got an upgrade in Jrue Holiday. So sad, but not sad bout Marcus Smart. Can't let emotions and sentimentality get in the way of doing what's best for the team

Perkins is not on anything, man ..he's calling it as he sees it ..He doesn't sugar coat things to please the overly sensitive, green-teamer fan base...for christ sake, everybody was criticizing the Celtics on the hero-ball/bombs away stile that they played , and there were huge question marks around wether Brown and Tatum could win it all, together...they were both deserving of the criticism they got .....but you know what? it made them better players, because it forced them to develop other aspects of their game and become more complete players ...ya man ...tough love in the form of heavy criticism is sometimes warranted ..

Perk started really getting off base when he got with SAS. Perk is a lost soul and he was a cheerleader for splitting up Tatum and Brown. Now hes a big sad puppy.
People have to accept that guys like Perk and many others (but not all) are not actually analysts. There are media personalities who put spins on whatever they believe at any given moment in time will get them the most attention, be it negative or positive. They actually think that people will forget what they said the day before to make a new point the next day and the day after that. One thing about Boston fans is that they never forget a slight, nor do I think they should.

Perk said what he thought his bosses wanted him to say. Lots of Celtics hate/jealousy. Look for Perk to come around next season. Not so much as a fan, but as someone who recognizes talent. Much easier to appear unbiased.
Perkin was the main reason why the Pierce-Garnet-Allen led Celtics did not win the 2009 and 2010 NBA Championship. Perkins was a big disappointment for Celtics team.
I hugely dislike Perkins as a commentator but you’re not being truthful here. They lost in 09 cause KG was out of the playoffs injured. And in 10 they were up 3-2 with Perkins in the lineup and lost the last 2 games cause Bynum ripped his shoulder out of his socket and ruined Perkins career.

How could you not love Marcus Smart? You knew he would always give his all on the court and he was extremely talented. It's sad that he was no longer a member of the team this year. Yet, like the classy guy he has always been he expressed his love and support for the team. As for Kendrick Perkins, he's the opposite of Smart. If I say he was a mediocre player at best, I'm being kind. The fact that ESPN hired and keeps him is mind boggling. Perkins has shown over and over again that he hasn't got a clue and is the opposite of classy. He's just dumber than dirt.

There’s really people who can’t accept that smart was a detriment to the team and was holding them back, especially the last three years.. both players we have in the back court are better than him and they never DPOY.. we won because he’s gone. He was holding Brown and Tatum back.. he used to dive for loose balls, people calm down he wasn’t the heart and soul. We just won a championship without him and we’re going to win more without him. Thank God we traded him.

Smart was a big reason they DIDNT win. Way too turnover prone and took too many shots. He was in the way of Brown and JT's growth. You saw what happened soon as he left.
