The black sections is the waterproof membrane. If you’re wanting boots that’ll get you in and out and make your hips and ankles very happy, these are the boots to get.
I loved these boots but the cordura piece in the tounge and the flex material at the heel came apart long before the boot wore out. Also the outsole started coming off both boots at the same time.I boot fix glued them and got more time out of em.Too many problems for 500.00 boots.Meindl are the best.
How about the tread/traction? Most boots for loose mountain terrain combined with rocks the souls fall short. Deep wide gaps with lots of surface heel/toe is best.
Very good traction. Side hilled and climbed up and down very steep terrain, stalked on my knees using the tips for grip, crossed creeks without losing balance. So impressed I bought a second pair for just hunting and the other pair for work.
You’re welcome. Yes sir. 100 percent. I do not slip on steep terrain where oak leaves and pine needles mix nor on wet moss covered rock. The grip on the bottom is insane. Stalking is so much easier. These are light and I’ve thanked the Lord many times for these boots. The quality, comfort, and performance cannot be put into a simple sentence. Would love to have a second pair for just doing errands and outside work-that’s saying something.
@@20cameron1 understood, thanks very much for the insight. If you don’t mind me asking another question, do you feel the non insulated still works great during the winter time? And in terms of the sizing, do you feel they run a bit large or fit as expected? Much appreciated, friend.
@@TavilsonHeadBangers If temperatures get down to 20 and below, get the 400g insulated ones. For sizing: if your left foot is noticeably less than 4” wide get narrow. If close to 4” or right at 4” wide, get medium. If more than 4”, get wide. Trace your left foot on a sheet of paper. How long is it?
@@20cameron1 thanks for all the good info, I just measured mine and it’s exactly at 4 inches, I also just went to a shoe store next by and asked for that metal instrument that gives the length mine is also almost exactly at 11, a bit short. Maybe I’ll order the 10,5 medium, if it’s too tight I’ll return and get the 11. I saw in one of their videos the boot has to feel snug but not too much. Ingotta make the right decision these babies are worth a lot of money.
