omg okay. i’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life, so basically theres three characters Taylor swift made up for the album, james, betty, and augustine so james and betty are dating and augustine likes james right, the first song in the love triangle is august, its from augustines pov about her and james’s summer fling right, then the second song is cardigan, from bettys pov when she finds out from her friend that james (her bf) and augustine had this fling yk so james cheated on her and shes sad obvi, then the last song is betty, its from james’s pov and its him “apologizing” (he does NOT say sorry) to betty about him cheating, folklore is her only album that does a story line like this and its called the “folklore love triangle” im really bad at explaining things so you’ll probably find a better explanation on tiktok but yeah its so cool how she made these stories and characters yk!!
