@the_ghost_tourist visits the Kennebunks of Maine, a New England seaside hotspot, and seeks out all the ghostly happenings at local bars, restaurants, and hotels. I visited in October so it was prime autumn, and the town was full of festive Halloween decor. If you love ghost stories and history (like me!) then you've come to the right place.
There is no shortage of haunted hotels in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport (I dare you to find one that isn't haunted). But if you're traveling with your dog, looking for a great price, and a fun bit of paranormal activity to boot then I highly recommend the Kennebunk Inn where I stayed for the weekend. It's a quaint old inn with a friendly staff, the beds are comfy, and it's reportedly haunted by two spirits. Silas Perkins, a former night watchman who died of a heart attack, and Sara Emily, an unknown child. Fun bonus, they host weekly trivia games at the tavern. Did I think it was haunted? I give this one a MAYBE.

For dining options of the haunted variety try The Tides Beach Club on Goose Rocks Beach. Great food of the non-spectral variety can be found at Mabel's Lobster Claw, The Clam Shack, Batson River, or the White Barn Inn ($$$).
And if you'd love to learn more about the town I always recommend taking a local ghost tour, we went with Diane from American Ghost Walks @americanghostwalks and she was super knowledgeable and a fantastic storyteller. Always a bonus when they use a microphone to speak so she was very easy to hear! 10/10 stars!
