Kennedy's words about the show trying too hard to reach a certain demographic that they already reached, and not letting it naturally flow, is so fkn true!!!! They already have a gen z audience on their hands, let them fall in love with seasoned queens instead of constantly try to appeal to them
season 13 to me proved that gen z would like the older queens if drag race gave them a chance. Tamisha was a huge fan favorite at the time. I love shitting on gen z fans as a gen z person but really a lot of us will like whoever but most just need to be shown more of the queens to feel connected
So true. And I think they're alienated their millennial and x-gen viewers who started with the earlier seasons who miss queens who'd speak their minds, be honest and be able to perform. When I watched the first episode and saw sugar and spice, I almost didn't want to watch this season. Honestly it's incredibly lackluster, and I think it's the low amount of seasoned queens. They fortunately have a few and Sasha Colby was why I didn't give up. Then I fell in love with Mistress, and Anetra.
Can't believe no one asked Kennedy how she felt being referenced this season for her iconic crystalised look! She's such a top tier queen. Hopefully these season 15 girlies don't get upset about her reads cause honestly, it's a holy honour to be read by Ms Davenport 💜
“Some choices producers make bring down our property value” “we have a MILK every season” OH MY GOD KENNEDY DAVENPORT IS EVERYTHING ❤ Thank you for these videos every week; always THE most entertaining
I would love for Kennedy Davenport and Cornbread to be hosts of a show like this. It would be juicy as hell. Would prolly last a couple weeks and be taking off air due to spoilers 😂
Kornbread would just make it about her. She wouldn’t listen and have a conversation with her guest. She doesn’t volley well. Kennedy needs to be seen and heard by everyone. She’s smart and funny and engaging. She’s respectful and shady at the same time. I love her.
Kennedy is in a very small group if not in the top 5 Fiercest, Realest working Queens today, maintaining her integrity of all my exposure to the Herstory of Drag, media, etc as a fan's perspective only, coming from a viewer of the RuPaul's show since its inception and evolution itself along with the respective sister sequels it has spawned. Please give her more Flowers and love b/c she deserves to be inducted in the Drag Hall of Fame for her continual contributions and commentaries. Queens should be allowed to have their own journeys, "opinions," evolve and gain experience just like in everyday life as she eloquently stated in 45:41 , since Life is a trial PERIOD, regardless of our origins and it's what we give to one another along the way that truly matters. We see you, Miss Davenport. I am a devotee of TRUTH, The WORD and ART- you are keeping it 100. All T.
You wrote about The Queen beautifully. I wanted to comment that I truly thought, shortly after the timestamp you inserted above that Kennedy was being forthright. And though it could appear as if she was solely giving advice to the RPDR producers, it demonstrated a humility that is immensely appealing. She likes the fact that she's more open-minded about drag, and possibly life in general. I like Kennedy very much.
Malaysia was so honest/transparent and owned up to wishing she left defeated, being able to be vulnerable and real are so important in building a fanbase, mad props to her
So amazing to see 6 queens of color be up on that stage and being so open and genuine and celebrated! Love that!!! I live in Tennessee where drag is under heavy fire, I love seeing the crowds at Roscoe’s be so celebratory of the queens
*Kara Mel. but yes, I agree, Batty and Kara Mel are just amazing and give so positive energy. lowkey tuning in because of them. The downfall of T-Rex was the best that could happen x3 love from Berlin, Germany
oh my gosh! Kornbread spitting FACTS here!! I did not see Sasha winning also this episode. WTF! is happening with dragrace? They really did the other girls dirty since the last episode.
Nah. Kornbread is dead wrong. Sasha does everything with such ease and confidence, and not trying too hard. Every time she does something, it feels authentic to her (which is why her interview and her runway look were so good!)
I agree but i didn't see Luxx winning at all either, love or hate her Loosey ate that challenge, probably the runway was her downfall, but yeah right after Loosey was either Sasha or Luxx and Salina shouldn't be on the bottom AT ALL! Also sorry to Malaysya love her, but Salina ate that lipsync.
@@duzacksclawrewatch the lipsync and focus your attention on Malaysia, they hardly show her eat that lipsync up. I love Salina to death and I hate the treatment she’s getting on the show, but for that lipsync Malaysia definitely won.
@@Dalsemien It's not that Sasha was bad but Charo dominated the interview. Loosey's interview with Frankie was more balanced. Sasha deserved the win but Loosey could have won as well. Saying that isn't discrediting Sasha or her talent.
Malaysia BdF was so right about RPDR only showing one part of her, and now we get to see the rest. I have fallen in love with all the queens this season by watching Roscoe's because this hour-long deep dive gives these already amazing ladies such DIMENSION. Naysha, Batty, and Kara Mel are the best hosts in the game. 💪👑💖 Sickening queens on the stage tonight 💕
I literally started scream laughing when Loosey didn’t win the challenge. I called it from the start I was like there is no way they are gonna give her a win
Kennedy, Kornbread & Malaysia! WHAT AN ICONIC TRIO!! Don’t get me wrong, for the most part I *like* ALL of the drag race queens, but it’s rare that I see an episode of this show where I genuinely *LOVE* every. single. guest! Words can’t adequately describe how excited I was to see this video in my “suggested” video feed when I opened RU-vid this morning ❤❤❤❤
Based off the performance and runway, Marcia and Mistress should have been in the bottom alongside Baby doll Foxx. Production clearly have their favourites.
yeah it's nothing new. even mistress was expecting the bottom, she wasn't deluding herself. but tbh id do everything to keep her to since she's the most tv friendly personality. people have often been saved bc of their tv personality or bc of the limitations their outfit would put on their performance (asia o'hara in the mask, miss fame s7, etc)
S1 to S9 were great because the queens were not afraid to show who they are unlike these newer seasons. Those seasons will always be memorable even if there's lots of seasons that came after that.
Underwhelming runway. Underwhelming lip sync. I feel like they were exhausted the whole episode. Which is understandable. We don’t know everything behind the scenes
i love kennedy down, BUT you cant say no ones memorable if you just binge watched the season...... a lot of these girls are memorable. AND luxx is def drag honey, lets be real
lmao i just left almost the exact same comment. i usually agree with her on everything. she’s an icon. but saying LUXX DOESNT HAVE ANY DRAG?? girl. i also think their hatred for marcia is a lil too much 😭 she’s so talented, yes she can drag it up, but damn it seems they really just don’t like her or luxx.
Plus, the older seasons are exactly that. Older. There’s been more time for moments from those seasons to marinate with the fan base. Plus nostalgia is a huge favor as well. People tore season 7 to shreds when it aired but now it’s thought of fondly. The newer seasons have good moments. It’s just recency bias
Omg if Kennedy & Marcia were on the same season, she would have let Marcia have it every single time. Sasha deserved the win & I love Malayshia but Salina won that lip sync.
I felt like they gave the win to Sasha because Sasha should have gotten it for the episode Aura won - the old girl group challenge - but someone decided Aura deserved a win before they sent her home the next week. So Sasha was supposed to be at 3 wins already, and they wanted to get her numbers back on track. It's like the Oscars: Cher should have gotten one for Silkwood. Instead, 4 years later, they gave it to her for frigging Moonstruck.
i rly don't get why the girls thought sasha was bottom that week? even if i wouldn't have given her the win, i definitely wouldn't have put her as a bottom. she did one of the funniest and most conversational interviews.
Hello from Bristol. UK. I'm studying to become an architect, but all I've ever wanted to do since I found your channel is go to Chicago to be at one of these viewing parties in person. One day maybe x
This is sweet. You’ll like Chicago, I studied art history, it’s a good city for art and architecture; and drag ;) Positive vibes for when you do make it across the pond.
Sasha Colby is just a force of nature. The way she does everything with such ease and confidence, and not trying too hard. Every time she does something, it feels authentic to her (which is why her interview and her runway look were so good!) She was the only one who did not feel rehearsed in the interview.
I can't imagine anyone ever telling Kennedy that her drag is not valid. Her drag is absolutely everything. We need to see more of Kennedy so she can get out there and teach the children what real drag is.
It irks me a bit that Kornbread thinks that she is speaking the truth, and that everyone else are afraid or not telling the truth. YOUR OPINION IS NOT THE ONLY VALID ONE, Miss Bread. Art is subjective, and what you saw is not always what I saw. To me, Sasha and Loosey were the best in the challenge, with Luxx a solid third. Sasha's look and the fact that Charro was harder to interview, perhaps coupled with Loosey dropping the ball on the witch doctor anecdote, gave Sasha the edge. Are Bianca and Jaida not being "real" on the Pit Stop when they did not even put Luxx in the top 3, or do they simply have another preference? This is what I saw: Luxx did good, but she did not match Connie and failed to stand out as a personality herself. Connie did all of the heavy lifting, and the queens are there to show that THEY are stars as well (which was part of the prompt), not shrink back. Sasha and Loosey balanced highlighting their stars with being funny themselves, and Sasha won because her runway was better.
Kennedy talking about her drag not being validated. Still she goes and say "it gets worse and worse", "did they really pick *that one* really?". Season 7 *old school* bitterness still there.
Marcia’s look…it was not even the same color (she was saying emerald green yet it was more forest green), it was velour, and the dress was so different…you couldn’t even see the inspiration from the original dress. It was nice to see Marcia x3 wear something different, but there was no link whatsoever to Beyoncé’s look shown. Like not even like a fast fashion copy…
I feel like this season the girls were all prompted to address production shenanigans and start drama off the show. WOW/viacom probably saw how popular it is with the fans to talk about production and petty drama on youtube and social media. Production is the new villain of the season
If rupaulsdragrace was fair Kennedy would have won all stars 3 because she won that lip sync. I'm sorry but there's absolutely no way in the world that Trixie beat Kennedy in the lip sync or in the season. Kennedy did amazingly well in all of the challenges the.
Exactly as Malaysia says - the bottoms were really her and Mistress... Selina's interview was better and even on the runway she looked elevated. But the producers of course know that Mistress does good TV, that's why they kept her from the bottom... Love your viewing parties guys... Petr from Prague, CZ.
I agree Luxe definitely should’ve won and Marcia fer sher in the bottom but this season is giving narrative down. Malaysia didn’t win that lip sync tho also her paint I feel hid her gorgeous face.
I agree with Kornbread 1000%, although sasha having 3 wins at this point makes sense with my fantasy, she should have had that 3rd win from the girlgroup and not this one. Luxx really did so well this episode, and the judges loved her so much, and also yeah Malaysia won that lipsync.
I love the girls, but I thought Salina definitely devoured that lipsync based on what was shown to us. And MIB I would have put safe, and Marcia low. The win I also would have given to Luxx or Loosey. If the runway was the tiebreaker, then Luxx.
Malaysia in my opinion went out looking absolutely beautiful, her lip sync was great too, and I hope she really feels that, I do feel like she lost a bit of faith in herself but she is wonderful and I hope it os reiterated to her from now till eternity Kornbread is correct though - the judging is completely wrong and so predictable this season, the bottom three were not correct, the winner wasn’t correct, and it’s always at the cost of someone more deserving in that challenge or for WOW to push a storyline
I came here for the MELANIN and getting to see new footage of Kenn! I LOVE YALL ROSCOES!! This being uploaded weekly is truly, truly, truly, a damn blessing to RU-vid. Too many race watchers don’t ever know the whole story, and stay opening that mouth on the internet and the twitters. All my love from lil ole Texas ♥️💋
Naysha probably won't see this comment, but on cooking competition television shows chefs often do bring special ingredients of their own, like exotic spices for example, that can be quite pricey. As well as their complete knife and tool kit - that is expected of every chef, on TV or not. And those are not cheap; knives are very very expensive, and you have to have multiple kinds for special uses. Although from what I can tell, the average a Ru girl spends to get on drag race seems to be a lot higher than what a chef would have to spend to be on Iron Chef, for example.
To be clear, Naysha's point still stands. I just wanted to clarify that about chefs, as I was one for 15 years and a friend of mine has been on two episodes of Iron Chef, so I had some insight into that.
They really set Malaysia up, giving her a character with a vegan outline, just to flip the script on her RIGHT before filming the segment? Not surprised, bored, do better WoW and Ru.
Mmm mmm not all Puerto Ricans are Black. Some are Indigenous Taino/Arawak, some are Taino/Arawak n Spanish, some are Black, some are Afro-Indigenous, some are Taino, some are Arawak. And then their are also other nationalities Asian, Caribbean, European, etc.
I agree with Kennedy, Marsha should have been in the bottom. The judges told Selina she didn’t listen to what her guest was saying well Marsha didn’t even understand what her guest was saying. The bottom 2 for me, based on the edit, was Marsha and Malaysia.
