Kenner Real Ghostbusters Ghost Trap! (RETRO TOY REVIEW) 

Jason, when I was a kid and played Ghostbusters, I'd put the ghost in the middle part of the doors, and slam my foot down. It would cause the ghost to flip in the air and land inside the trap (provided I kept the door open) I thought I was a pretty cool kid for coming up with that, lol Thanks for the memories dude!

Hey Jason, those plastic tabs that broke from your trap that you called a type of heat sink are simply a bracket to hold the pedal cord when you wind it up around the trap.

My cousin and I caught so many ghosts with that thing…….we filled our containment unit like 3 times. Pecker helped us empty it a few times as well.

Fifteen years ago I scoured eBay and purchased this, the Proton Pack and as many Real Ghostbusters toys (mostly NIB!) for my now adult children, who were obsessed with Ghostbusters and the cartoon. Still have most of what we bought stored in the garage today!

I just have a flashback of me playing with this one and a blaster with wavy foam at the tip. Damn I loved these.

There’s a mechanism inside the trap that opens the trap. If that’s the case for you, there’s a 3d printer file on thingyverse so that you can print a new one.

I always wanted the Pack, Trap, and PKE Meter as a kid! While we were, umm, poor, I was fortunate enough to have Peter and Egon, fright feature Winston and Ray, and Ecto-1. I made my firehouse and PKE Meter out of a cardboard box lol.

That was one of my favorite toys ever- I still have parts of it but its mostly toast. It looks like that handle was glued on- My handle totally broke off.

I recently restored a Kenner Trap and gave it to my best friend and Fellow Ghostbusters fan as a Birthday gift.

I used to think those two clipper thingies clipped on to the pack as a kid and I can't remember if at the bottom of the pack or at the top of the pack somewhere on there there should be a counterpart the clips onto the trap

Hold up!! I ain't expect you to actually GET the Trap, too!! You didn't mention how you can connect the Trap to the Proton Pack...

I had the opposite: Ghost Trap but no Proton Pack. Reeeeaaally wanted it.

I wish Hasbro would remake the ghost trap for their classic real ghostbuster remake collection

After all these years I never knew about the belt clip! Wow. I used to have the trap, and I remember taking it with me to a medical office because my grandma had an appointment and it was fun to play with while I waited. Some man walked by and stepped on the handle and it broke. I've never quite gotten over it.

I had the trap that was sort of like a voice changer, where you talk into the pedal and it comes out of the trap itself. Until of course one day my best friend came over, saw it and stomped on the pedal rendering it useless. But we were like four years old so I didn’t hate him forever. Maybe.

The yellow tubing eventually pulled out from the trap. I was a bit rough with it so watching hold by the tube makes me cringe a bit.

Ah brilliant. I had this as a kid and broke the same parts. I also thought it would be a good idea to pin all my badges to the tubing. Years later it became my first buy from ebay back when eBay was new.

I remember my trap the yellow cord broke on like day one but I still used it for most of my childhood.

You gotta do the ghost spooker next, I thought toy was awesome when I had it as a kid

I remember getting this toy….. I had it a little over a year before the handle broke and later the tube became unattached from both the peddle and the trap. Turns out this was a normal problem since the trap was one of the last toys Kenner made outside of the action figures and the quality was poor.

My handle broke off multiple times to be continually and crudely repaired by super glue. Don't give 6 year olds super glue.

Both that and the proton pack toy made my childhood. Literally it helped me not be afraid of the dark.

I don't know about anyone else, the handle broke on me twice. Even after glueing it back together. I noticed a bit of glue marks around the handle on here too.

As a kid I Love the real Ghostbusters toys and I am glad that there returning by Hasbro

If you did have friends come round you could playout that movie scene where they trap Slimer, just don't ruin your mum's kitchen or break her table. "The flowers are still standing" lol 😂👻🚫 I wanted that trap but never got it, I did have the other one, the one where you could talk through it. If you remember that one?

while we've definitely come a long way in terms of Ghostbusters ''prop'' toys, the Kenner stuff still definitely packs a punch. here's hoping they rerelease the trap and proton pack someday!

I wanted that too,but again my mother felt I was getting too old.

I convinced my best friends mom to buy this for me when we were at the store once, my mom was so mad when she found out. Still have it though!

Yeah last time when you did the proton pack I told you about my incident with the fire in the house and destroyed my proton pack my ghost trap my firehouse I would give anything to have those right now at 36 years old LOL I was very good with my toys they were never broken I always put them away gently and they would probably be still here today and it's hard to find that stuff people charge way too much money for the firehouse the proton pack and I say to some people why are you putting $1,000 sticker on pieces of plastic. And they said if you want it bad enough you'll pay it no not really and they can always remake them that's what they need to do is remake them just like they were. To be honest I would give anything for a proton pack the firehouse and the trap and Ecto 1 I do have the ecto-1 from the extreme Ghostbusters I believe Target was selling them for a while but they were expensive and I'm like nope it would just be cool to have that stuff I love the channel that's awesome.
