heads up. the second opening for season three, which starts episode 13 of this season (episode 50 overall), is very spoilery for the events of that episode and the next five episodes after. It should be safe to watch episode 19, but just to be safe, I'd recommend not watching it until the end of the season, which is episode 22. episode 12 has a scene in the middle of the credits, and episode 19 has a post credits scene. oh, and you kinda glossed over what Kenny said after killing that merchant. Levi Ackermann.....Ackermann.

idk if u realized it (or got spoiled beforehand) but Levi's surname was revealed when Kenny killed Deemo Reeves. it's understandable if it wasn't a surprise to you because the general fandom likes to refer to Levi with his surname. but that specific scene at the end was meant to be a subtle reveal that Mikasa and Levi actually share the same surname.

Remember the people Sannes lists, won’t say anything yet, but they’re worth to keep in mind (not for anything important, it’s just another cool aot forshadowing thing)

that ost that played during kenny and levi chase is one of my favourites in aot!! these episodes are a bit of an info overload, but i feel like it's always this way when some answers are finally revealed in this show

I love season 3. I dont think i can pick a favorite season cause the whole story is good - but i have fond memories of waiting for the next episode weekly during its air time. The scene with Levi vs Kennys secret group is so sick. Iirc it took 3 months just to story board that part. Season 3 is the last season i watched where i hadnt been spoiled with future events and it was such a fun ride. I cant wait to see you experience it :). You're seriously one of my fav reactors and deserve way more subs and views. Like others said, this is the first time we ever heard Levis last name! Wouldnt blame you if it was spoiled for you though in passing online. Its pretty common knowledge now but when it was first revealed in the manga i remember seeing posts of people absolutely freaking out and coming up with all sorts of theories.

To clarify about the time line, I commented in one of the season 2 vids that season 2 happened more or less in 3 days in AOT world. So season 3 started about 1 week after that. That's why Armin said to Mikasa that she just grabbed by a titan (and need to rest)

Didn't really pay much attention to the other (side) character interactions on my first watch through but man watching 5:28 the nth time really makes me laugh.. Hange and Moblit's relationship/dynamic is soo funny to me. Like her first instinct is to call out Moblit to sketch Eren's face😂😂 and Moblit's like "Section Commander have you no empathy?! "

Even more reasons why Jean is my favourite character, always quick to turn around and change his perspective, and learn from his guilt

TMI, Kenny and Hange's voice actors are husband and wife in real life ☺️ but when season 3 was airing, they were not married yet.

Differences From the manga: (Ep1) Manga: The scene of the discussion between Eren and Historia about her personality takes place in a hideout near Trost. Eren gives Hange the note she made about Ymir and Berolt's conversations after Djel Sanes' torture in another hideout. Eren and Historia were taken safely inside a house while Levi moved around the city with Armin and Jean in disguise. Levi enters the warehouse with his squad to rescue Armin and Jean. Kenny's ambush occurs in the Stohess District, when Eren and Historia had already been kidnapped by the Central Military Police. Anime: The same discussion occurs at the Survey Corps' temporary hideout in the forest. Eren gives Hange the same note shortly after the Survey Corps left the site where they were hiding. Eren and Historia were being transported by Keiji in a carriage while Levi walked with the decoys around Trost. Levi separates from his squad to guard Eren's transport, leaving Mikasa in charge. Kenny's ambush occurs on Trost, who, together with his squad, is preparing to kidnap Eren and Historia at that very moment.

Differences From the manga: (Ep2) Manga: Keiji is killed by Traute Caven in Stohees during Kenny's ambush. Eren and Historia are kidnapped by Kenny's squad in Dimo Reeves' temporary shelter after Erwin's failed operation to find Rod Reiss' whereabouts. Dimo Reeves takes Djel Sanes and Ralph to the place where he supposedly has Eren and Historia kidnapped, but the carriage they were traveling in "accidentally" slips, causing both officers to fall off a cliff. The legion proceeds to capture them, taking advantage of the fact that they are unconscious. Dimo is slit by Kenny near the place where Eren and Historia were "kidnapped". Furthermore, the two have a long conversation before the respective murder. Levi's squad takes refuge in an abandoned barn after the encounter between him and Kenny Anime: Keiji is killed by one of Kenny's subordinates when he was driving the carriage carrying Eren and Historia. Eren and Historia are kidnapped by Kenny's squad on the streets of Trost after Levi and the other recruits could do nothing to help them. Both agents of the Central Military Police are kidnapped by the Exploration Corps with the help of Dimo and his son Flegel in the middle of a rural area. Dimo is slit by Kenny in an alley in Trost. Levi's squad takes refuge in a Trost warehouse after the encounter with Kenny.

Erwin and Armin are two best well written characters in this show

The characters might look a bit different and older, its cause the studio changed the animation style a bit. Levi looks A LOT better this season imo. Hes supposed to be in his early 30s but when we first see him season 1 he looks even younger than Eren imo.

Just want to clarify! Historia doesnt actually know anything right now, she's just the only one who has the right to know whatever information is being withheld because of who her family is.

did you catch levi's surname drop? :) levi vs kenny and his people has to be the coolest sequence in the whole show. the animation of levi is absolutely insane, it's unbelievable. also in episode 12 of this season (ep 49 overall), there is a mid-credits scene that's controversial whether it's a spoiler or not, but if you don't overanalyse it, you're probably good to watch it
