I could have never imagined competing in the last beat battle ever against some of my favorite producers. Or the overwhelming support from the community. Thanks to everyone for making this battle truly unforgettable!
last beat battle 😥 I hope that this new kenny's project, will continue to help all foreign producers, because for me this was the strongest point of the beat battles
I was so happy to compete alongside yall! Y'all are such great musicians and producers! Shout out everyone who participated and watched! Hope y'all have a fantastic week! Hope to cya around some day.
RIP beat battle. These were prime entertainment during covid and beyond. So dope to see the community get better, as well as watch Kenny's star rise. Stoked to see what comes nxt.
@@dgage1776 not really, kenny ended it because he wanted to branch out more as an artist and not just a producer. beat battles were kinda just a covid pandemic thing because everyone was quarantined
Damn, sad to hear this is the last beat battle. Thank you RU-vid community for making these comment sections awesome and supporting producers. And thank you Fliko for your dedication to posting the videos. ❤️ Edit: Congrats izumi! People give you shit for your beats sounding similar, but to me the similarities are my favorite part. 😂 Your style is top tier, ESPECIALLY being a newer producer in the space. Keep killing it.
@@liamgreer8019 Maybe is because Izumi made it with a better mix and a clear structure that flows nicely through the track. Taho's beat has some mixing issues and in 28:18 the beat syncopation conflicts with the flow and it feels like a struggle.
Yeah but ive heard that sound on souncloud too many times, it wasnt mindblowing. Taho was unique, had tempo changes, Plus the sample usage was better.@@MrPipol-nm3cd
the tempo drift on the TAHO beat is so complex. starts around 82bpm, dips down to near 70bpm, verrrrry slowly drifts back up to 82bpm, then drifts up around 85bpm at the very end. not only are the melody and instruments telling a story, but the tempo of the song itself is assisting the narrative of the beat. so dope. i think this technique was used a lot in western classical composition, but was kinda lost in the DAW. Also, DJs don't want to beatmatch a track that has multiple tempo drifts. Conclusion: tempo changes are a powerful subversive tool to utilize in contemporary music
Izumi had one of the best sounding beats, but it didn't make me feel. Similar to kenny's comments about ardmore's beat, incredibly technically good but the feeling was missing. I'd have to give the dub to taho or grant
I liked Izumi's beat but Grants sample usage was so much better. I feel like Izumi could use any sample in her song because it's so chopped but Grants is a core component of the beat.
personally Taho to me was more musically impressive, there's more theory in there and you can tell there's some crazy experience behind that, However the fact that izumi has only been producing for 2 years is beyond me, when she's at the same stage in life as Taho she will surpass him for sure. keep it up! :)
Dumbest logic I’ve ever heard. Also, she won because it was the best narrative for Kenny and the beat battle. It’s pretty simple. Of the beats Kenny considered, hers was the least sophisticated and least musical. But to be able to say a minority girl won the last beat battle … that’s the best story for Kenny. And the quality of the beat battles has gone down so much, I don’t think Kenny cares anyway-everything is equally mediocre/Luke warm/luke hot, so it all blends together, either way. Not much originality, not much creativity or risks being taken. Meanwhile, there was some genuine talent in the first season, and also a few in the second year, yet none of those people have gone on to any success, aside from their own modest RU-vid platforms. So it’s an easy call for Kenny to end the battle: he’s not excited anymore by all the same-soundy shit, and no one is truly emerging from these battles anyway. So it’s time for something else.
Taho Izumi and BP BANANAS13 were my favorite 3. BP had 3 entire different moods. Great beat battle! Hopefully they make a return in the future. Maybe 2024 or 2025
dude i was fucking crying as soon as he said that was the last beat battle. that shit is super disheartening but it was a fantastic wonderful ride. thank you so much big kenny
Man, I'm proud of this community. I've been watching these battles since before gifts were even a thing and this whole project has come so far. I've discovered so many fantastic producers and laughed at so many moments on the streams. I just want to say thank you to Kenny Beats and everyone involved for making this happen (especially the mods for doing all that crazy work in the back), you are all greatly appreciated. I hope Kenny comes out with some great new projects for producers to shine and I'm proud to say I am part of this community. Much love, and take care yall!
This top 4 was absolutely unbelievable. So much love Kenny and Fliko, these beat battles have been an incredible source of knowledge and inspiration for me. Thank y’all so much
i have just been sitting here re-listening to ey-i, todd, bananas, tahoe, ardmore, grant, knowles, and, of course, IZUMI over and over for like 30 minutes now and i am just so fucking happy. thank you kenny-- what a sendoff.
After listening to this entire upload I’ve realized the skill gap from amateur to pro producer is extremely high, honest opinion is all these were so mid, slow bpm, basic basic sounds and nobody was remotely close to flipping that sample and doing it justice. Bishu has an amazing series called “bish battles “ for anyone who enjoys beat battles
Kenny if ur checkin on in these comments, you know whatchu did bro 🧠 great battles. Ofc we'd love to see it continue without prizes, but good looks and huge up to the prizes you gave out to the boys
Been here since the start. Beat battles were a huge thing for me during Covid and have honestly always filled me with excitement and inspired me. Thankyou to everyone involved from Kenny all the way down to the community. Feel sad it's over but looking forwards to more!
whole second half was insane. Beat battles started when i was going through one of my lowest points and helped me get through those days. It was great while it lasted.
TAHO clearly had the hardest, most original beat. Izoomee shit was def mid. Never heard of any of these producers or even seen any of these beat battle streams but come on man...smh
Bro, do you still have a recording of Kenny reworking baby wipe by ski mask with the beat he made out of the Pixar sample? Just went looking for it and can’t find it anywhere 😢 shit was so fire
Man that was amazing. I’m sad as fuck tho knowing that I’ll never get a shot at a battle like this :( But guess I’ll just have to start my own thing one day. Congrats to all the producers who had their moments to shine even if you didn’t make it to the finals. Mad talent overall up in here 🙏🏽✨
Kenny's Beat Battle for some who in general loves music, and appreciates the crafts that go into the breadth of it was a bright fucking star during the Pandemic & Quarantines. Holy shit I wish nothing but the best for him, and everyone who competed from start to finish and the thousands who got to bare witness to it all and vote on the contestant entries. Hands down on of the best things I've experienced as a human being so far on the Internet of all places.
