We played this song at my wifes funeral. She passed away in July at age 40. The ironic part was we married 6yrs ago standing in the surf in South Carolina, and we were at the same hotel when she passed that we stayed in when we were married. I didn't know it was possible to hurt this way. I miss you my Wild Wild Child
I’m Soo Sorry for Your Loss💛🥺💛 Just remember Everything happens for a reason and You Will Be with Her Again. In fact I’m Sure she’s watching over you every day. A Very uncanny way things happened I Agree!! This Song you chose seems Perfect 💛🙏💛 God Bless💛✨💛
This song played the day after my 19 year old cousin committed suicide. I had an empty heart that day, and then this song came on. It described her so much. I miss her each and every day
Kenny has been on top of the charts since the mid 90s because he just knows HOW to do this job. He's got summer singles, rocking singles, heartbreaking singles and relaxing/acoustic singles. He always managed to mix them, thus reigning on country radio. This one is really good. Soul-soothing I daresay.
"you were born to dance to the beat of your own heart to roam without cages with the innocence of a child and the free spirit of untamed horses, I hope you laugh without stopping live with abandon and love like there all their is, stay wild my wild child" gotta love that speech at the end
I hear this song in my head as a way of keeping myself to true to who I am...wild child. (Society doesn't look kindly on us but I don't give a dang! They only wish they could be a wild child!) Kenny writing this song...he gets us. Thank you Kenny Chesney! The wild child, the free spirit, the gal that is a gypsy and that rebellious soul that never goes away not even at my age 55! And I gave birth to 3 more of us. Stay wild...my, wild, wild child. Embrace yourself and be true to who you are...wild child!
"You were born to dance to the beat of your own heart, to roam without cages, with the innocence of a child and the free spirit of untamed horses, I hope you laugh with out stopping, live with abandon, and love like its all there is, stay wild my wild wild child"
Nothing more beautiful than an open Spirit and the love of life. It's a free Spirit that don't carry a lot of burdens. It's a BEAUTIFUL feeling. Been there. At this time of my life 56 and my old wild butt has slowed down BUT I PRAY THAT GOD LIGHTS MY FIRE AGAUN SO U CAN LIVE, LAUGH, AND LOVE. AS URBAN SANGS "" BEEN DOWN SOME NINTY MILES CURVES AND CRASHED BUT.......... I STILL HOLD MY FAITH EVEN THREW MY DARK DAYS BABY !!!!!!!
This is so great. I cry when I watch or hear this song, it's so beautiful and it honors the free spirit of a woman. Most country songs these days do nothing but talk about a woman's looks, objectifying them. This is so totally different, and it is so me--I'm over 50 years old, but it is still so me...! Great job, Kenny. And, Grace's singing is such a beautiful addition!
You definitely hit the nail on the head it's for every woman out there for the free spirit they can't be changed the one that pushes herself to every limit she can to go where she wants to do the things that eases her soul love this song
This song really hit the nail on the head! I have always been free spirited and love life! I've always went my own way in life and never regreted any of it... When ever I listen to this song, I think of all the things I've done and and I smile, good or bad.. As I get older, and now have children of my own, I too, tell my kids to free and wild and always be who they are! Never change who you are, love yourself, and never regret! Thank you for this song... You really said it perfectly! :)
I love this so much 💗 yes! I'd love to hear your story! I travel the country teaching yoga at retreats, I solo state travel, I've hiked on crutches, fed baby tigers in Mexico, swam with sting rays in the Caribbean, rode camels in Israel, and lived on a horse ranch in Texas. Here's us brave souls who live. The way life was intended to be.
This song fits me and my daughter perfectly. I was a single mother with manic depression and things were always interesting and mostly fun....until November 5th 2013 when I lost my beautiful wild child in a car wreck with her boyfriend. now she is my wild angel.
Shawn Ramblin I'm so sorry for your loss.i have a 20 yr old daughter and I dedicated this song to her..I can't imagine loosing her.my heart goes out to you.
The Young Lady is Gretchen Rhodes.Singer/Songwriter.She now lives and performs in Hawaii with Mic Fleetwood's band. She has a great voice and a daughter !!!
this song set the mood for 2015 for me... then 2016 sucked.... I wanna go back to this free spirit kind of girl I used to be and stop stressing out so much...
My companión (my dog ) ,(to those who don't understand) was killed April 1 2023. This song is all and I mean ALL that gets me to face another day this song describes her so perfectly. Thank you Kenny Chesney without you I could have never found a way to let her go but this song helps me so much. Her name was Laci love and she taught me what love is how to give and how to receive it. But she was my little wild child. God bless you and RIP LACI LOVE MY LITTLE WILD WILD CHILD!
yeah, a wild child, a rebel soul and a whole lot of gypsy. what a combination. to me that's the ultimate of a free spirit. how can you not love that?? yeah, a wild child!!!
I love this song! All people who own horses can relate to this song. A horse expresses freedom, and a wild side. I believe all of us equine lovers feel, and want!
Equine friends make us feel wanted and that they are relaying on us to feed and give them water never mind that we gotta have our fun. I can't wait till I can jump on my horse bareback and gallop through the field.
I was a foster child never had one place i really belonged so many homes i use to hate it now its in my soul over the last 2 years my whole family is gone and yet ive been to 19 islands 7 states out the country twice now planning on seeing the us Virgin Islands in the spring never knew kenny had a house there im also from Tennessee i hope one day i find someone just as wild as me forever a wild child
you were born to dance to the beat of your own heart to roam without cages with the innocence of a child and a spirit like untamed horses love like its all there is smile without stopping stay wild my wild wild child
I don't know why but whenever I hear this song I think of a father singing it about his rebellious daughter and admiring her spirit and worried about her but wanting to encourage her nonetheless
I've always LOVED KENNY....since my 16 year old baby tragically & unexpectedly passed in Feb 2015, this song has kinda become her theme song. So very fitting for her. She was her mother's daughter & wild in ever way. I love Grace Potters closing words....they are so my sweet baby Shilah.♡
I love this song so much! just amazing! I always felt some kind of freedom just watching the wide open sea, and this song describes a woman with that kind of free spirit! words just can't describe the way I feel about this song! let's share this amazing music! Kenny, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Tim McGraw have recorded some of the best country pop music ever!!
jacnbcc Kenny's most famous songs (Summertime, I Go Back, Don't Blink, Never Wanted Nothing More, Til it's Gone, Come Over) are pop country songs. I can say the same for some of the others. there's nothing wrong with it, it's good music. but I can't really say they are pure country singers. but they sure sound like true country compared to crap like jason aldean, chase rice, Michael ray and thomas rhett
This song made me think of Momma Kathy when I heard it because at the end it's like she's talking to me from Heaven! Give Hunter Fisher hugs and kisses for us! Love and Miss Ya!
Possibly the most beautiful way to describe this song. Straight from the man himself: "It is a song about any woman so hungry to engage life, she spends her days trying to taste it all," he added. "You don't have to be a gypsy to be a free spirit, but just someone so in love with life, you will never get enough. To see a woman like that is a pretty amazing thing."
My heart breaks for you dear. Stay strong. Cry when you need to. He died being loved by you. And he loving you. So, it's alright cry and remember a broken heart loves stronger.
My mom showed this song to me when I was 4-5 and told me I was her wild child, she died June 2023 and this song is one of my only connections with her.
my grandma had heard this song and dedicated it to me.. because she said you got gypsy blood in you your just like your great grandfather who was a runner but she said wherever u roam just remember Kentucky is your home😊
I'm so sorry for your loss. I too lost my daughter at 18. This was her song as well. God bless you and your family. To all who have or have lost their wild child.
Kenny your voice is absolutely beautiful and your music gets me through the toughest of times. If you haven't been told today always know that your truly very special and have touched so many hearts. Sometimes you touch hearts and it can cause a woman to think of you , to actually see the person that stands behind the musician !! You may not be understood by all and that's okay , but I can definitely relate to you. Keep up the great job Sexy !!!
Met my soul mate, not sure where the wind will blow us, even if it will be together. But, this song describes us. Maybe one day we will be uncaged, running with the horses, dancing hippy dances, and loving with Wild, Wild Love!! LOVES
I remember my mom calling me her wild child, now I understand why. I cannot stay in one place very long , I have a gypsy soul. A good friend said I was a free spirit, that had a rebel soul. However I feel that my wild days are to be tied to that one love that has captured my heart.
Love this song. Reminds me of my crazy, spiritual, optimistic, fun loving, unpredictable, adventurous, hippy wife who's taught me so much about love, life, and making the most of our short time. I love you :))
One more thing mom I think you'll see this but I'm sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry so sorry for not spending time whating to go with my dad I'm sorry dad but monmy your the most person that is important to me for not there being with you I'm sorry mom for everything everyone that's reading this give me a thumbs up love you mommy
I played this for my baby Belhue, Tuesday is a miracle she will be 1!! She’s my miracle, Blue Nose and Blue Heeler, moon blind, double canine teeth. To think when I got her she almost didn’t make it. She looks a lot like a horse and dreams to run with the horses. Big fan!!!
My daddy calls me his wild child cuz I get injured, I break bones, I get hurt, but I keep going. I get right back up and act like nothing has happened. I play indoor soccer and I got slammed into a wall and hit my head (little did I know it was a concussion) and within a second I was back up and playing. Eventually my dad realized I was running out of fuel and had to get pulled out of the game because I couldn't remember what happened and I couldn't stand on my own, but after 4 weeks of impatient waiting to get cleared, as soon as I got cleared from the doctor, I went running to train for a marathon. I really am a wild child!!! I really love this song cuz it really speaks out to me. I don't like a lot of Kenny Chesney, when I first heard this song, it instantly became my favorite song. This is a really great song!!!
I love this song and I love love love when Kenny does songs featuring Grace Potter I love her band my favorite band ever Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
My 10 year old daughter and I went to the Kenny's concert in Kansas City this July and I made shirts for us to wear. Hers said: I keep my hair a mess...I'm a Wild Child. Mine said: She keeps my heart a mess...She's my Wild Child. This was her first ever concert and a month later is still talking about it. Thanks for the memories with my baby girl, Kenny!
my mom loved kenny chesney more than any other artist, and if any song describes my momma perfectly, it's this one. she passed away suddenly a week ago, and I had them play this song with the slide show of photos at her visitation. I had never looked it up on here until after she passed. but I feel that the woman speaking at the end is her speaking to me,as silly as that sounds I find comfort and peace when I hear it. my mother had a true gypsy soul that she passed on to me, so I had her cremated and I intend to drive across the country this summer to spread her ashes in all of the places she loved so much when we would travel together. I have no words to describe how much I miss her, but I know she would be proud of what I'm doing for her, and I just cannot stop listening to this song. ❤
Hes not the only one singing, case you didn't know.... First time I heard this song I knew it was a hit....I love it,, I listen over and over and just imagine....That's what this song does....keeps your imagination going through and though...that's mostly what makes a great song... I think most would agree... Old songs bring you back to what you were and felt back when...Knew songs touch your heart, your soul, your inner most self. That's the key, the magic of it all... Jeffrey T.
I love this song so much! When my momma was in icu on a ventilator fighting for her life this song played while i was there with her and she said that song was about me. I lost my momma January 4,2018.
