The normally bustling city is dead quiet. This song comes on WPLJ, Power 95. For the first time in my life, I start to truly understand the peace that music can bring you.

I listened to this song for the first time when I was a kid in the late 80s during my stepfathers sisters wedding. It played at the wedding. Her name was Jannet, her husband was Sammy. I was maybe 5 years old, the memory is foggy now, but the melody, it lives on with me forever helping me recall a distant faded memory. When I hear this song it helps me remember that day in my minds eye more vividly, the flashbacks become a little clearer, a little more colorful. I remember running around with the wonder of a child exploring the world. The music helps me see the nemories that are difficult to remember. That's what music does for us. It stays with us forever helping us carry our memory, like taste, and smell, and sight, and all the other beautiful senses we have to experience in this life. May we never take a day for granted in this life.

I almost can't even handle the nostalgia that this induces. I was just 5 years old when this song was released. I practically grew up on Kenny G. My parents had several of his albums on vinyl back in the day. My dad worked for a radio station when I was growing up and he would always come home with all kinds of CDs. I'll never forget when he brought home a Kenny G CD in 1993. I was in the 6th grade and I had just gotten my own CD player for my bedroom for my 12th birthday. I immediately popped it in and was whisked away. I've been a huge fan ever since. Just hearing this song immediately transports me back to the good old days when life was so much simpler than it is now.

So nostalgic and beautiful. Hearing this song on the radio as a kid on the drive home. No cell phones, no social media. When you had to turn on the radio station at the right moment to catch a song, always waiting to hear it again and grateful when you did! No repeat button, just enjoying it for those few minutes till the next time you got to hear it

I am 76 years old and have been a fan of Kenny G since I first heard Song Bird. It has the most loving and soulful sounds and doesn't need lyrics. It's perfect as is. 😊

When I listen to Kenny, it takes me back to my childhood. It reminds me how much I miss having my parents together. They would blast Kenny as we drove through the mountains, beautiful trees, straight to the beach. It takes me back to that age.. This song never ages. It hits hard everytime.

My brother Damian fell in love with Kenny G in the early 1980's. He got me hooked also and I have many of his CD's. At his funeral on the 20th of January 2022, we played this song. This song I dedicate to him, rest in peace until we meet again Brother..........
