To be an 80s teenager when Nobody's Fool was out in Top 40 radio... Listening to it on FM radio during the summer with car windows rolled down... That sense of freedom... Today's kids can't even...

What was a song this great doing in such a mountain of dog shit?
@Viking_Luchador
@Viking_Luchador 2 года назад
@Nigel Corney not really. "Almost Unreal" was one of Roxette's biggest hits, but it first appeared in the Super Mario Bros. movie. Smashing Pumpkins' "The End is the Beginning is the End" was written for Batman & Robin!
@Viking_Luchador
@Viking_Luchador 2 года назад
@Nigel Corney as I understand it, "Almost Unreal" was originally written for the film Hocus Pocus, but Disney decided to pass on it. So instead it just bounced around until it was picked up for SMB. Do you watch Minty Comedic Arts? He usually has trivia like that, about songs getting shuffled around by studios

This is a song that 80s radio stations need to bring back to the airwaves. They are stuck on a 50 song loop of the same old hits - lots of Prince, Huey Lewis, Journey, Bon Jovi, etc. Kenny Loggins gets attention on today's retro radio, but is limited to just Footloose and Danger Zone. Nobody's Fool was enormously popular on the radio when it was released in 1988, but many younger millennials and Gen Zers have never heard this.

Great song! I still remember when it was popular back in 1988. I was nine years old and this video was played constantly on MTV when it actually was MTV and not worthless reality shows. Unfortunately, Caddyshack II really sucked. I've always liked this song much better than "I'm Alright" from the original movie. This song has lots of liveliness and energy, whereas "I'm Alright" is rather boring and repetitive. One thing's for sure, there will never be another decade as good as the eighties! Actually, "I'm Alright" is the way better song in my opinion. Never cared for this song, since it just sounds like a typical generic '80s song from that time. The two songs he did for the Footloose soundtrack were even better, and major hits too. He also had another great hit called "Vox Humana" from another album he had out around the same time the "Footloose" hit blew up, which has been forgotten since it was overshadowed by his other two hits. Btw, Loggins just put out a new memoir called "I'm Alright", and he also put out a new version of "Danger Zone", his hit from the original Top Gun soundtrack.

If Caddyshack II were half as good as this song is, it would be one of the greatest comedies of all time. This song deserved to be attached to a different and better movie.

Nothing better than 80's Movie Theme songs! Can listen to them all day long.. This movie? Sure it wasn't the greatest but hey, its the 80's, we can forgive.. This theme is near the top of my list though..

Every so often a favorite song would come on the car radio just as I got to my destination. When it did, I would put the car in reverse and drive around some more until it ended. "Nobody's Fool" was one of them. Why the local '80s FM stations repeatedly air the same old '80s "standards", yet hardly ever play lesser-known gems like this I will never understand. "Footloose", "Don't Stop Believin" & "Small Town" start to get boring after a while.

Nobody's Fool would be tough to sing on a concert tour. Much of the song (specifically the chorus and each verse leading into the chorus) is in Kenny's upper vocal register and requires a lot of breath support. Unless they dropped it to a lower key and/or did it as a slower acoustic song, performing Nobody's Fool live every night would blow out Kenny's vocal chords.

I read an article this summer in which Kenny confirmed this is a doozy to sing and that if he does sing it, he needs some recovery time (easy tunes). He killed it in DC in June.
