Kenny & Michael's voices compliment each other soooo beautifully. I get chills evertime Michael sings and when he opens his eyes...I'm melted butter! This song has such a happy groove...LOVE IT! I watch this concert from time to time. It's just that good! Gorgeous outdoor setting to boot! ❤️
This whole Kenny Loggins live album is amazing. Outside: From the Redwoods. He does a song with Shanice called Love will follow, it kills. She was an up and coming star at 18 yrs old on this record.
Yes, yes. Outside From the Redwoods was a concert album and DVD from Kenny Loggins. Shanice shows up as a special guest in addition to Michael. Kenny’s band here is superb, the venue is breathtaking and the arrangements and performances of these songs are completely unique. This is a treasure trove, y’all! Great selection and reaction ❤
They wrote What a Fool Believes Togerher. Amazing version per their styles. You should really check out the live version of Angry Eyes by Loggins and Messina.
This is why I love you guys! You react to the good stuff that no one else reacts to. Love this version of this song! Props to whoever recommended this one.
LOVED the way the hand drums-guy was SMILING so BIG - THIS just looks like it would've been a TRUE PLEASURE to be performing THIS SONG - with ALL THAT BEAUTIFUL SOUND comin'-OUT!! OMG!!!
I loved the reaction, guys! To be a tree there! Lol, I love it! I've not heard Kenny do this before. The rhythm during the chorus gives me an Al Green "Let's Stay Together" vibe. It's smooth, no denying it!
If you like Kenny Loggins with the same guy on sax (Mark Russo I think) check out ‘Celebrate Me Home’ live from the Grand Canyon 1992. Knock your socks off and have you in tears.
Kenny Loggins. Outside From The Redwoods is a great album! Public Television broadcasted the whole concert in the 1980's. You may be able to find it on RU-vid. Check out the duet he does with Shanice! It's special.
These two came to Gathering on The Green in Mequon, Wis. maybe 5 years ago. It was outdoors and was just so very awesome. Two of the best voices to ever grace a stage. All the ladies just quietly swooned, including my wife!
❤ Marc Russo on alto sax kills it. I've been so wanting you boys to hit this live version. Whole concert is dope. Mike McD...c'mon man! Check out Kenny's duet with Shanice from this same concert. Killer!!
Another great reaction from you two. For another great performance of a classic song. And yeah, this was a Doobie Brothers hit. But as others have already commented, this was actually a song written by Michael McDonald and Mr. Kenny Loggins! And both the Doobies and Kenny released somewhat different versions of it. And this performance kinda mixes both of them in. IMHO, in a delightful way, showing off both the strengths of both artists, as well as the rest of this band. And as you two noticed, also the venue. Superb!
Oh please please please watch more live performances of Kenny Loggins at either this Red Rocks or the Grand Canyon concerts. He and the whole band will blow your minds! From this same Red Rocks concert, I'm sure you'd enjoy Celebrate Me Home, If You Believe, and Conviction of the Heart as well as an especially charming acoustic version of House at Pooh Corner. I absolutely adore this version of What a Fool Believes by the co-writers.
I Love this performance! But...I am old so, to Me, Loggins was at his peak with Messina, those songs took me places without being trippy, always felt comfortable...just sweet music...the best thing to me is, they keep going, things change, but the quality is Always there...Great react!
It's been mentioned already but this is a concert that I remember being televised on PBS back in the day. Kenny Loggins Live Outside: From The Redwoods was worth watching. The entire concert is terrific, but this song (that they co-wrote) and his duet with Shanice Wilson are worthy of more reactions.
You'd never regret diving down the loggins rabbit hole. So many great songs. Yes, it's a loggins concert from the redwoods. I have the DVD. It's all great.
Thank you for this. This concert and his cocert at Redrock are different and I've loved the both for more than 30 years. He performs an unbelievable Vocalease version of his song Celebrate. He almost becomes the saxaphone.
This is an amazing reworking of their song - the doobie’s version was all about hypnotic metronome-like hits and beats, and here it’s become a great soul groove…🔥. reworked chord progressions too 🏆
I would go back further on Kenny Loggins when he was part of Loggins and Messina and check out "Watching the River Run" or "Angry Eyes (live version). Messina, basically, discovered Kenny and he is no slouch songwriter and singer, either.

@@AirplayBeats righteous ♥️ still holds deep meaning for me and my HS sweetheart , Hank Bibby. We both still respect each other, but a hard breakup all the way around. I learned. And I am so grateful 🥲 Thank you!!! 🙌🏻
"I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothing against him, but if I hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, I'm going to "Yah Mo" burn this place to the ground."
