I'll even begrudgingly let go of the fact that he allowed that awful tag match with Zeus in and that he talked shit about the brilliant HBK/Hart IronMan match.
Kenny likes the type of wrestling Adam Pachiti thought Adam Blampied loves! l mean "ZEUS"!??? for god sake! What about HBK vs Flair (WrestleMania) or HBK vs HHH (SummerSlam) or HBK vs Undertaker II or TLC II (WrestleMania 17)! What the hell gets ZEUS in your freaking list!!!!!!!!????
God guys it's HIS list why are you criticizing? This list should NOT get you mad as everyone's is different and he's not forcing you to like any of these matches. At least he's brave enough to put some VARIETY on his list instead of just copy and pasting the top 10 matches from online into this video
I feel like its the story that makes the match. Thats what got me into watching wrestling. It doesn't have to be a technically amazing match, but if it has a good story, its great. I agree with Kenny with his list.
Blampied's list: Technical wrestling and spotfests. Kenny's list: All about the story (except Cena vs. Punk) Pacitti and Ross's lists: A great mixture of both. Jack's list: Doesn't matter
@Nicholas Sabater I just did that for this video... I am crying laughing!!! XD One of the lines that had me rolling was "less clothes on" in place of "list goes on"...
Dont forget he was a kid then. Most of our fondest wrestling memory's come when we were children and worried more about Kayfabe things and spectacle than whether or not it was a well structured match.
I was born in 96, so the major matches I remember were mostly from ECW. Eddie vs Chris Benoit, Eddie vs Brock, triple H vs Shawn, RVD vs cena, anything with sabu,
I'm a Chicagoan and I watched that match yesterday. I still can't believe that it's already been five years since the WWE championship left through the back door. CM Punk blew Vince and the WWE Universe a kiss goodbye, and it was honestly one of the best matches in the past five years.
Javier Gomez In your opinion. Like I said, in my opinion and that of many actual pro wrestling journalists and writers it indeed was. At the very least it was equally as good.
+Toe Cutter I agree the match itself was great but the rematch didn't have as great a build up and therefore fell a bit short of the original overall for mine.
+_ Hans _ I agree, he seems good in the ring and can be quite charismatic it seems, but I say it seems because from watching wwe you would struggle to tell! He deserves better!
Where's triple h vs Austin no way out 2001 cactus jack vs triple h royal rumble 2000 Chris Benoit vs Kurt angle insurrextion 2001 Eddie vs Kurt wrestlemania 20 Brock vs Kurt wrestlemania 19
I haven't watched enough classic wrestling to make a truly balanced list, but since I've been a fan (2011) there's been a few matches that are absolute classics to me -Edge V Taker (Summerslam or O.N.S.) -The Shield Vs Team Hellback (TLC 2012) -Alberto Del Rio Vs Dolph Ziggler (Payback 2013) -Daniel Bryan Vs John Cena (Summerslam 2013) -CM Punk Vs Brock Lesnar (Summerslam 2013) -Seth Rollins Vs John -Cena Vs Brock Lesnar (Royal Rumble 2015) -Seth Rollins Vs Dean Ambrose (MITB 2015) -All-Star MITB Match (MITB 2013) Daniel Bryan Vs Triple H (Wrestlemania 30) John Cena Vs CM Punk (Raw 2013) Shawn Michaels Vs Undertaker (Wrestlemania 25) The Shield Vs The Wyatt Family (Elimination Chamber 2014) WWE Championship Chamber Match 2014) Obviously these arent the all time greatest matches, but they're my personal favourites. I got a lot of history to cover xD
+Josh Paul funny I watched from 2003-2010, and started watching again this year. I had no idea Brian Danielson would become so popular. Where was David otungas push?
BEST LIST so far!!! i like that u included matches from all eras and different varieties.. kenny u are the MAN! and the one there with the best wrestling knowledge this list proved it
Kenny is definitely the most knowledgable smark, I'd rank their knowledge in Kenny Adam P Adam B Jack Simon Suzie Ross aka. Only concerned with the modern era
I would assume that, in an Era when character took stage over in-ring ability, Hogan's persona clicked with people. Hogan, Piper, DiBiase, Savage, Andre. All these characters that just draw you in. Something that I feel is missing the in the current product outside a few exceptions.
Hulk Hogan was the single greatest wrestler ever - bar none - when it came to creating a crowd reaction and controlling a room. Not even Flair, the Rock or Austin at their peaks were as good in that respect. Just watch his early WWF and even AWA stuff to confirm that - people went absolutely berserk just at the sight of him. With regards to his wrestling, it was certainly limited, but he barely ever made mistakes or botched finishes. That and his control of the audience is what gave him such power and longevity in the business.
+Ags Connolly I think the only name that can rival Hogan for the greatest "superstar" in history is Stone Cold. He got pops face or heel. it's like the glass shattering was a cue to scream loud or something.
My Top 10 Favorite Matches: 10. Batista vs Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton WM XXX 9. CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan Over the Limit 2012 8. Mankind vs Undertaker King of the Ring 1998 7. Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar WM IXX 6. John Cena vs Shawn Michaels on Raw 5. Mick Foley vs Edge WM 22 4. Edge vs Chris Jericho Extreme Rules 2010 3. Rock vs Mankind Royal Rumble 1999 2. Shinkusa Nakamura vs Sami Zayn NXT Takeover Dallas 1. CM Punk vs John Cena MITB 2011
Wow, what a surprisingly different top 10 list, very impressed! With the exception of Taker and HBK, Rock and Hogan, but that match will just always be no.1, its just an masterpiece. But I was mostly happy to see Sasha vs. Bayley on this list, argubly the best match of 2015, they are just the best. They deserve more recognision and most likely on a personal top 10 list of my own, I would have their match at Brooklyn, rematch at Respect, the 4 way at Rival and the Triple Threat at WM32 - four of their best macthes
had to pause to say, if you think hbk v hart iron man match at mania 12 is boring, you don't know wrestling (nah I'm just playing) but seriously, you have to appreciate the story they told with that match, the psychology, the endurance, the drama, the pacing, the teeth biting moments, the contrasting styles, and then "the boyhood dream has come true" moment where Shawn looks at that title like he now looks at his wife and children. Matches like that are rare...but that is just my opinion, like your list so far
Glad I'm not the only one that calls Punk, Phil. Haha great list Kenny! I also love tag team wrestling. If I had a top 10 matches video I'd have at least five tag team matches on there lol.
I dunno when it was, I think it was a Smackdown match of all things, but it was Edge VS Jericho. Heel VS Heel and I think the only Heel VS Heel match they had. That match was my favorite, it was so surreal.
Nice list, but counterpoint to women's matches in WWE not really getting a good opportunity: Mickie James vs Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 22 or Trish Stratus vs Lita at Unforgiven 2006
I'm really going to have to watch that Undertaker-Michaels match sometime. It's been number 1 on almost all of these lists and I've never seen it because it happened during my hiatus from wrestling.
4:09 Not only does Michaels turn heel on The Rock in a Rock vs. Triple H match on Smackdown, but Bulldog also turns heel on The Rock in a Rock vs. Triple H match a few weeks later on Smackdown
10,CM PUNK vs John Cena NOC 2012 9,Cm Punk vs Chris Jericho WM28 8,Daniel Bryan vs Batista vs Randy Orton WM30 7,RR 2011 6,Edge vs Undertaker SS2008 5,Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle WM21 4,CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy SS2009 3,Cm Punk vs Daniel Bryan OTL 2012 2,CM Punk vs John Cena MITB2011 1,CM Punk vs John Cena Raw 2013
A lot of "modern fans" in this comment section who either A) don't know the difference between "favorite" and "best" or B) Think that a match has to be a work-rate extravaganza in order to be good. Solid list. Thumbs up.
One of mine is never on any of these lists: Jeff Hardy vs The Undertaker in a ladder match for the WWE Championship on Raw. It's the best example, in my opinion, of an amazing underdog vs. unbeatable champion story. JR's announcing is second to none and the spots were amazing. Just my two cents.
Ha! Nice list.. The Taker/Shawn Micheals career ending match was one of the best matches and most emotional matches I've ever seen.. You had everything and when Micheals eventually lost to Taker who had to earn the win.. The next night, Taker tipped his hat to Shawn.. Something you'll never ever see out of Taker and it put me into tears seeing a bad ass turn into someone who even though both of them hated each other in RL.. show a man respect regardless of what the circumstances were. You can't beat that! That and Shawn Micheals like him or not ranks right up there just above Edge in greatest ring heel performers ever!
My 10 favourite matches10- Matt hardy vs Jeff Hardy- Wrestlemania 20099- Sami Zayn vs Nakamura- Nxt takeover dallas8- Shawn michaels vs Ric Flair- Wrestlemania 20087- Batista vs The Undertaker- Wrestlemania 20076- Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins vs John Cena- 2015 Royal Rumble5- Edge vs Mick foley- Wrestlemania 20064-The Rock vs Stone Cold steve Austin- Wrestlemania 20033- The shield vs The wyatt Family 2014 elimination chamber2- 2005 royal rumble match (Mainly because it legitimised and set the stage for cena and batista for the next 5 years)1- The Undertaker vs Shawn Micheals- Wrestlamania 2009(Was a tough choice, wanted to add the 6-man hell in a cell match from 2000 with rikishi v rock v kurt angle v triple h v stone cold v undertaker aswell as finn balor vs samoa joe
My list for no reason; 10.John Cena vs Randy Orton - Breaking Point. 9. Hardy's vs Dudley's vs Edge & Christian - TLC Wrestlemania 8. Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker 2 - Wrestlemania 26 7. John Cena vs Big Show - Wrestlemania 20 6. Undertaker vs Mick Foley - King of the Ring '98 5. Royal Rumble 2001 4. RVD vs John Cena - ECW one night stand 3. Kevin Owens vs John Cena - Elimination Chamber 2. CM Punk vs John Cena - Money in the bank 2011 1. Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker 1 - Wrestlemania 25
If Hulk is really Kenny's favorite I would like to hear his list of Hulk's top 10 matches (In all of Pro Wrestling). You can't count of the matches here they can be honorable mentions but choose another 10 for the list.
Everyone has put thier favorite Rumble based on the star power. I heavily disagree with that. My personal favorite is 2009 Royal Rumble, I loved how it played out from start to finish, it was so entertaining and it by far has the most rewatch-ability. 2001 is so close though.
I can just see in an alternate universe where Vladimir Koslov won and went on to face taker, and whatculture in that universe says can you just imagine if Shawn would have went on to face him. Lol
So since nearly everyone agrees taker vs Shawn from wrestlemania 25 is their favorite, and are so great. We can all agree it's the greatest wrestling match of all time.
FINALLY Kenny mention about Andrew! Andrew need some love from Adam Blampied, Adam Pacitti, Jack The Jobber, King Ross, Simon Miller, Sam Driver and Suzie Kennedy! Andrew Soucek is like TNA of Whatculture because he is rarely mention or interact with anyone from Whatculture! He's not even part of WCPW!
Is anyone realizing that pretty much not a single one of the matches on this list is clean, but with interference? I feel like this is WhatCulture saying "SEE THERE'S GOOD MATCHES THAT END BY INTERFERENCE, SO WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT"
Best match for me in WWE history was main event Wrestlemania 20 Triple H vs Shawn Michaels vs Chris Benoit. Triple threat match for the WWE heavyweight championship. -coming from an Undertaker fan. No match was better than that. The best story line WWE ever made from the built up of Summerslam to wrestlemania 20. Go and watch that match.
