Kenny Rogers talks about his long-time relationship with Dolly Parton, his friendship with Michael Jackson and Elvis. He also touches on how to handle fame.
I will always love you Kenny Rogers and I have been listening to you since I was 7years old. I am now 55 and you are my idol and my inspiration. You will always be my number one and my favorite ,God bless you and rest in peace in God's arms
Kenny Rogers was a fine man with a very big heart and helped a lot of people he's going to be sorely missed rest in peace candy we all love you and we are the world
He was a beautiful man with beautiful songs that always told wonderful stories. Thanks for the music, Kenny. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and fans. I will miss you but I’ll never forget you or stop playing your music. #RIPKennyRogers 🙏🏼 #LegendsNeverDie
RIP Kenny Rogers, you were my hero. I listened to you growing up and will never forget your music and your wonderful voice. My love to your family and may God bless them. You showed us all that hard work and treating people right makes you successful in life.
I love his songs, especially " Lucille" and " Coward of the county", and when he has a duet with Dolly Parton, it promises more.May his soul rest in peace, such as that of Don Williams, and Johnny Cash.
Well that guy he's so have good heart I never meet him but him Dolly there sing from thier heart I can not say what I going say Kenny he's good hands god bless
I recently discovered Kenny Rogers. Coming from the Northeast I was not very open-minded to anything associated with the "Country" music scene. Seemed to be a little too "country-bumpkin" for me or perhaps too hillbilly. Of course, I heard Kenny's songs on the radio in the early 1980's--- but I basically tunned them out. But recently I listened to The Gamber and watched The Gambler TV movie. And I really liked them both... So started listening to Kenny in his interviews --- I really dig this cat.. Cool guy, nice guy and has a lot of talent.
I know Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton Kenny Rogers will be every in my heart very very missed throughout the whole world knows that in the nation he's one hell of an artist one of the old time first time hell of an artist and everybody knows this he was the one bad ass f****** singer in my heart
Kenny, great interview. I dated Roger Bowling in the 70's. What a great song and hit for you - Lucille. He enjoyed some success, but sadly took his own life. I have loved you since you were with the Fifth Dimension. Congrats on everything you've done in music.RIP KENNY
Debbie Scott I’m not referring to Kenny Rogers. In referring to Roger Bowling who was the co-writer of his big hit “Lucille” long, long ago. Kenny Rogers died of natural causes. Go back & read again. I stated that I dated Roger Bowling back in the 70’s Roger committed suicide in 1982. He wrote & co-wrote many big hits & recorded himself but, in my opinion, Lucille was his biggest hit in terms of his success as a songwriter. Sorry you were confused.
Debbie why did you feel the need to attack me about getting my facts straight. I am the one who dated Roger Bowling in the 70''s and if I misspoke about anything it was possibly about what caused Kenny's death the early reports stated natural causes but someone here said he had kidney cancer.. I don't understand why you felt you needed to be ugly to me.........I have my facts straight. Roger Bowling wrote many hits for Kenny. I have a long and winding road history in country music, but I'm choosing not to act all prideful and tell everyone of my accolades that I have had in country music. I simply wanted to speak kindly of Kenny because he will forever be missed and I thank God we have his recordings to keep him alive in our hearts and minds. May you gain some perspective from this and perhaps not go on an attack to the next person you make ugly remarks to. I'm a really nice person and I feel you were ugly to me. But I forgive you.
I’m his mail lady and I miss him deeply. I came here just to hear him talk. I miss him. He was such a funny humble giving person. So you are definitely right who could not love him?
People loved too much Kenny and Dolly. Dolly talks sencerely as well as Kenny. Kenny is gone however, all his songs and memories is lived forever in our hearts and mind. The circle is broken when Kenny is gone forever.
Bob Seger and Kenny Rogers. Find two men who ooze with more joy, the fully understand what it is they experienced. They are fans as much as they are artists
What a singer and what a career. Sporting a goatee here, but would I be wrong in stating that over the years he had the greatest beard in show business? Another master gone too soon.
Kenny Rogers wrote a song called the last ten years which is very good. It's a Song I'd say Bob Dylan or Leonard Cohen would have liked to have written. Kenny Rogers fans should check it out.
I never knew that Kenny Rogers new Elvis Presley and they had became friends back in the day. I never seen pictures of them too. My best two favorite singers. But Kenny was right right on the button he wanted to play cards and Elvis wanted to go with him but he couldn't. Kind of makes sense coming from Kenny Rogers which is a very smart man. And he even said that Elvis Presley probably would have been mobbed because who he is. So in some ways by Kenny Rogers saying dim things about Elvis Presley I would not put a past Elvis Presley faking his death just so he can have a life. And among other things. If Elvis Presley is still alive he would be 85 years old. And I wonder for incense let's say he's still alive or he faked his death and now he's probably gone and nobody really knows. I hope to God someday if Elvis Presley is alive, please come out and face your fans one last time and explained what happened to the world, because the world would forgive him and understand. And same thing with Michael Jackson if you are still alive come out and explained. But I think it would be too soon for Michael Jackson,. Elvis Presley It's a whole different situation. Elvis Presley cannot do anyting except on his property behind the fence oh, and sign autographs. It's not that someone wanted to shoot him not that I know of, except maybe the mob . but he sign autographs twins fans and never kicked his fans out of his property or by his fence. Therefore over the years you've heard a lot of documentary novellas possibly faking his death, it's very possible. We will never know unless his grave was dug up. But for instance if he did fake his death and now that he has passed on because it's been 40 some year since. How do we know privately they did not put him in his original grave. We will never know I know I'm stretching very far I'm a big fan of Elvis. But I would not know how to react if he come walking out announcing his return. That would be the biggest news in history. I'm just saying what a great guy Kenny Rogers was. Never got to listen to a lot of his interviews over the years. It's pretty sad including myself, not always keeping in touch with your Heroes and your favorite singers. Until they're gone. But Kenny Rogers
Meng his Surgery was botched. . .shld have never have done it . . .I'm sure Dolly influenced him. . .such a shame, he was a very handsome man before the surgery. Very sad loss
Try listening to the Album of, "When Two Fools Collide", on Liberty Records, (1978). By Kenny Rogers and Dottie West. It will bring you to tears! I wrote more about it on my own website: aquablauw69.com
I love Kenny Rogers and I believe everything he says but he is wrong about he's got the most sold records in the country. Of all time I have to disagree with that he's talking a hundred two hundred million hundred twenty million records worldwide I'm assuming but I was proud he's got a billion 1 billion records worldwide. An average good entertaining artist like Kenny Rogers is roughly a hundred million so he is correct he's probably higher than 90% but I was crazy beats everyone. I just read that fuelly a week ago. But even though Kenny Rogers is awesome and he's humble he looks old here but he looks good. I think he's in the 60 66 or something like that. But then I heard when he died he died of natural causes. He said the family was there and hospice. So if hospice was there. Therefore he must have had a pre-existing illness to cause him to have hospice. So I wonder what his illness was. I think he had cancer I would bet money on it
He was 81, he had kidney cancer. They said he died at home, and on another channel they said he died in hospice? He will be sorely missed. This was recorded 3 years before his death.
@@debbiescott3452 they never said why he died .they. Said he died of natural causes. So I looked further into it he was hospitalized a month ago or so with dehydration. But what got me was they said he died of natural causes at home with his family by his bedside and hospice. So I thought to myself why was he in hospice. A year ago or so he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. And that he will die or that he's going to die. That was never publicized. So they did a farewell concert for his retirement. And during his interviews they asked if they thought he would come out of retirement and he said no cuz his body won't let him do it he's done basically what he said he still never mention cancer. So I have to believe the prostate cancer is what took his life. I never heard anything about kidney. But I will look it up you do the same. Thanks for the info
Ray White I am sorry he passed, he will be missed. I noticed he has always been a private person. I had no idea he was married 4 times! He has grown children, never seen pics of them. I knew about the twin boys and the young wife, but nothing about the other 3 wife’s! He was blessed with a long healthy life. You know, I have been a fan since he was with the First Edition. I guess there are lots of things I had no clue of! Lol Thanks for your input.
@@debbiescott3452 oh that's okay. I love them to you as one of my favorite singers next to Elvis Presley he was married this last time for 20 years. I've been following Kenny Rogers for the last two weeks technically for some reason I started listening to his songs again before he passed and this is how I know he was in the hospital for dehydration. Matter fact I was watching a video couple months ago with him and Lionel Richie singing Lady great performance. But I always had something in the back of my head something was wrong cuz he was looking skinny in the face and he is losing his hair real thin. And you know Kenny Rogers he always wants to look his best. Hammond Dolly Parton we're best friends, singing partners. Isles of the stream was their best hit. Which was written by the Bee Gees. But listen to the song Old Friends my old friend something like that. It's like a story that when one of them goes they will be on the stage all alone very beautiful song. Now dolly is going to be on stage alone, but anyways I think he had prostate cancer that's what I'm assuming and he kept it to himself. That's why he was in hospice. And I really don't think nobody knew. Kind of makes sense. I think prostate cancer affect your walking ability. And he had to sit down on the last few shows, my older sister went to one of his last shows and he sat down the entire shows, she has seen him a few times at the Fox Theater in Detroit oh, I seen him once. But she said he had to sit down, and he was not as good as he used to be something was wrong. But anyhow he gave it all his all. And his best friend Lionel Richie, is the only one that could even come close to him singing Lady. I've been listening to Kenny songs all week. my favorite songs by Kenny Rodger is Lady and She Believes In Me. There's so many it's just tired. Thank God for RU-vid. There's a lot of stuff I did not know of Kenny Rogers. He helped the Eagles get started. he was good friends with Elvis Presley I didn't know that. My favorite two singers how aaronic. he knew everybody in the business and they all looked up to Kenny Rogers he definitely will be missed. I am so glad that I can help you Debbie Scott to understand a little bit more about Kenny Rogers. but I think the prostate cancer is what got him. And that will come out probably down the road. you did not have to apologize I understand
