What a beautiful blending of 3 voices? I am going to miss Kenny and James forever and ever. No surprise that the iconic David Foster orchestrated this beautiful song. He's a musical genius!!!!
I've gotta say when Kenny comes in with "But what about me!!" So heartfelt, he just nails that emotion. Just rips your heart out. I have always loved this song.
One of them great song's again unrecognised which I can never understand. Especially from 3 great artist's! But in them day's you had so many great track's from each of the artist's mentioned you would only remember them if you was a true fan.
When everybody was doing duets in the 80's, 2 legends and Kim Carnes performed this classic love triangle melody. "What about Me?" she beckons, ushering in a new generation of female needs and respect. RIP Kenny and James. Such a fabulous collaboration by 3 perfect voices
WOW!! Kenny Rogers big as a mountain, his voice even bigger!!AND James Ingram, what an incredible/magnificent talent! Kim Carnes simple and beautiful, beautiful all over!!!
When beautiful voices are silenced by their passing, it's a great comfort to be able to listen to them afterwards. These are the voices of my childhood. Brings back great memories of simpler times
They don't make music/songs like this anymore. These were true artists and they had such beautiful voices. Kenny and James has passed away but I see Kim Carnes is still alive. ❤️ Continue to RIL Kenny & James 🙏🏾
There's been almost NOTHING that Foster has put his hand to that doesn't sound amazing and hasn't been a hit. The man has an uncanny knack for that. Historic and world class producer.
@@EphemeralProductions 100% agree with you there! Nice to hear someone mention the genius that david foster was as a producer The song's this guy produced for so many great artists I don't think there's one I've come across that I haven't liked! And there's song's still now that we're massive hits from old to this present day that I've only just discovered he produced.
@Craig Patterson Me too...loved all 3 of these powerhouse singers. I really wish there was a better print available of this video. I know it's decades old, but it sure would be nice to see them more clearly. The passion in their voices and the expressions on the faces are so incredible to witness. I'm sure Kenny and James are still singing somewhere out there.
My heart is so sad and full of tears. I can't believe James is gone. I will always treasure the music he left behind, but my heart breaks to know that I will never hear his beautiful baritone again. RIP James.
Kenny Roger I am so happy that your leaf so many beautiful songs thru your life time...those gentleman really knew how to sing and Also Kim Carnes.. love her too, so sad that those two great singer are gone they are leaving us ... so sad the new generation of music no much talent...:(
This is truly one of the most beautiful love songs, sung by Kim, Kenny and James. I love the emotions shown by them, and it just takes me back to when love songs were beautifully-arranged. Thank you, KKJ, for giving us such a beautiful moment in time. Love from Mahuika Anderson, Auckland, New Zealand
I was an arranger in my past military life, and so admire the lush orchestrations that Dave Foster puts together here. He's responsible for so many other wonderful arrangements too) Kim, Kenny, and James all provide the perfect centerpiece for this song, and will forever imprint in all our hearts the love and emotion that they brought to this moment in time. These three helped to define miraculous moments in history where angels trod on the earth in full view of the world))) Thank you, one and all, for all the hard work that went into creating this masterful piece of art! Kenny and James, you will be missed and loved by all of your fans)) Kim, we all love you and thank you for the beauty you created here with K & J)
Wow never heard song before. In all my years I’ve stayed away from Kenny Rogers thinking he is too country but this song would give a lot of the pop and RnB love songs a run for its money. The woman who ever she is has a really nice raspy voice.
What a beautiful song and so real to life. You're in love with one person and in love with another person, and your in the middle. Such a true life situation. Hard to say goodbye to one to be with the other because you care so much about the first one. Life's choices are tough. And we've lost Kenny Rogers now just a few days ago to death. And I can see from the person's comment below me that James Ingram died. I didn't know that. What an exceptional voice he had.
All (3) nailed it & knocked right out of the park! Kenny was Fantastic! To be honest all (3) were outstanding! The 80,S really was the best Decade Music wise . This one is definitely over the top! Glad I was around then growing up! Rip Kenny & James ! EDWARD Ingram was from Akron Ohio! A buckeye! I’m a buckeye Myself. The song sounds so good with a good pair of ear phones or buds !
This song is so perfect, it is as if heaven sent it. It taps soo deeply into your physical and spiritual being. It's a song you feel in your body and soul. So beautifully sung from three amazing talents. RIP to Kenny Rogers and James Ingram. Music has lost true artists. They will be missed in an ever changing industry that seems to have lost its ability to touch people so profoundly.
* * * * * KENNY ROGERS, LEFT US THIS WEEK, A BEAUTIFUL HOMAGE TO THAT ICON THAT MARKED MANY TIMES OF ROMANTICISM IN OUR LIVES, AND STILL SHINES WITH HIS SONGS, REST IN PEACE, AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION FOR A WORLD, ... LIKE LEAVE YOUR LIKE ..
Anyone who ever lived through this...in either of the three positions shown in this song...can appreciate the sentiment sung about. Takes me WA-aaa-aay back...
Yet, two win and one loses. That´s what the whole song is about. Talking about something is the easy part; going through the pain isn´t. I´d say the center of the song is really that a part of one dies when one makes wrong decisions. She´s leaving a one who loves her for a one who satisfies her more. Love is fair; in true love, we will always be free to go for something better. No one loses, for the one who remains alone already had a beatiful love that will remain in the heart forever. Even when we have to cry because our feelings; suffer, because of our selfishness or pride, love brings healing and new chances and blessings. No easy thing in this circumstance, for either of the three, if they really want to love.
@@rio-impetuoso4271 She is the one torn; of course the men are hurting. She sang that last line, 'what about me', after the men had been repeating it in the tug-of-war. That is true; 2 win and 1 loses. Sadly though it is she that really loses. She'll always think of the other, therefore not giving either man her entire heart. (they could both move on without her and surely find someone who is true. Leaving her alone...) [pardon the edit; spell error]
@@sdavis5001 I don´t want to hurt sensibilities. How can she be the one torn, when she decides which one of both she keeps? She´s the only one who can´t lose, no matter which way she chooses to go. Isn´t it so?
@@rio-impetuoso4271 much like everything else, each person interprets it their own view. Perhaps that's the beauty of it. Which doesn't make any "right or wrong"..... simply just how they hear it. I strongly feel she ends up losing in the end. She cannot give her whole heart to one person. IMPO, that's losing.
Such an immortal masterpiece and love song 🎶 from the 4 legendary artists Kenny, James, Kim and David Foster. Oh my 😲 you truly feel the intensity of the song as you've watched and hearing it.
I had completely forgotten about this song! This song popped up after another James Ingram song and after the first word, I started singing all the lyrics. My poor co-workers!!!! Love this classic!
When music had a passionate, living, child-like soul that carried you to the ends of this universe and into the next. Music used to tell poignant stories of love, loss, anger, passion, shame, joy, sorrow, and you felt EVERY single peace of it in your body, in your spirit, like this gem here. Sadly, music in this early 2st century has lost its luster, its shine, its passion.
One of my many favorites of Kenny Rogers. The best trio I can think of off hand. He was my grandma's favorite. My grandpa bought her a record player to be able to play her Kenny Rogers album. RIP Kenny. ❤
This song all I have to say is WOW What a beautiful song If anyone who has ears should like From Kim Carnes to kenny Rogers to James Ingram These different voices put together to create a great song KENNY and JAMES we will certainly miss your music
This song brings back so many memories. In 1984 I was separated from my husband of 15 years. Then after so many tears, I met someone new. Then my Ex wanted to come back. So many feelings. But I went with my heart and eventually married the "someone new." I didn't want to repeat 15 years of pain again! 💔
Abril de 2020 ,,, Muito talento jtos !!! Magníficos Intérpretes ,,, !! Kim, Kenny and James were in the "We are the world: song. They were great in the 80's. When there was soul in music. It was on the radio from 7:00 to 7:00.
Que canção extraordinária ❤️❤️❤️ amo James Ingran ❤️ principalmente se canta com Kenny Rogers. Que saudades desses cantores maravilhosos e que bom que as músicas e os clips estão sempre disponíveis.
1984 when life was young n and new wonder in it...I was thinking about a phase of this song type in the tube there it was the sound, the memories ...wow something you just don't forget Kenny,James ,and Kim.
Eu amo demais essa música.tres feras da música internacional,três vozes magníficas combinando com tão linda melodia esta é de matar aguenta coração.coraçao bobo coração.💓💓💓💓💓💓
I was heartbroken to hear of James Ingram's passing. What a powerful and passionate singer that he could move me to tears with his singing talents. Another powerful talent taken too soon.
Wow! Heard this several times over the years but I just started appreciating James Ingram's music. A little too late unfortunately. However, the lyrics all of a sudden made impact. And seeing that close up of James towards the end was my undoing. Why was I living under a rock all this time? So much music I hadn't appreciated before. All three singers are amazing.
