KWS is a one trick pony, it's a good trick, but it's his only trick. Guthrie is a swiss army knife with ALL the blades sharp. I can't imagine picking up a guitar when Trapp, Uncle Larry and that Gill boy are in the room. Sheesh!
Guthrie is confident in his abilities so he doesn’t have an ego problem. He’s as good as anyone that could get on stage with him but he understands the star appeal of others like Kenny.
When you know you're 1000 levels above the other guy, you don't have to flex on him. We all know Trapp can humiliate anyone with a guitar IF he wants to, but he's about the music not cutting heads. That was Danny Gatton's problem, he was always trying to compete and not make music.
@@TMats100 yes! I was surprised that he at started singing - I've always known the guy in his band that sings Blue On Black to do all the vocals. KWS is a great vocalist!
he took the best songs on his last album, so I figure he's getting ready for when Layton retires from the drums, KWS will probably step down to a power trio. More money for him, more glory, and more what suits his style.
@@soliddesignenterprises it was a Nashville guitar community hang that was cool to observe as a fan. Otis Gibbs and Jack Ruch were leaned against the wall in the back. The guys from Gruhn walking around. I'm sure tons of others I didn't recognize were there too.
