Awesome! My idea for a Southern Hive Character: Name:Emsaic (Or Em) When he was young, Em's family was trying to escape the Hive as they did not share their xenophobic culture, but they were attacked by the Holy Nation (Or any other faction) on the way. Em survived, and realized his parents were wrong, no other race can be trusted, they should all be slaughtered as the monsters they are, he made it his mission to end with all inferior and brutal races (specially the one that killed his family). He realized he was weak, so he started researching prosthetics, he needed to make himself stronger in order to better serve his king, so fueled by memmories of his family, he cut his legs and arms in order to install his newest creations. (Or is trying to do it in the playthrough)

I remember in my first playtrough ever, i was playing as a skeleton. So i kidnaped a Southern Soldier Drone, and named him Ronn. Then with him, i lead the army of about 100 Thralls to CatLon's exile. They all died there, even my main skeleton. Exept for Ronn. He lost his right arm, and ran back to Souther Hive soil, and bled out.

Mohi's Diary Entry 11: Valmon is dead, his horned skull is hung up on the wall of my quaters. A trophy, symbolising my triumph over the Reavers. Recently I have spent most of my time training my new army, the Black Marauders, I trained the first squad two months ago, I am half way through training them rigerously. On the first day of training, they had to do twenty pushups and run ten kilometers, seemed quite simple but training on the second day was much harder, they had to fight eachother in on one unarmed combat. The fights lasten until one of the fighters started bleeding, two recruits died in the process. Death is a risk in training, but a risk that must be taken, just like a real war. I plan to have fourty Marauders ready for battle within the next four months, so we can launch our attavk on the southern nobles. I have already had meetings with Sin and mirusaki, planning our invasion of the South.

(First rendition! Very basic right now, can/will make an expanded one when I know more of the story, pretty much just establishing 'character type'.) Name: Scalpel Race: Southern Hive Weapon: Sabre. (If only base game weaponry, preferably Foreign Sabre, if expanded, anything with high cut and bleed. Medical themes will also appeal.) Armour: Unsettling. (Nothing specific yet, especially with Hiver clothing and armor restrictions, but in general, something 'creepy' and 'ominous'. Leaning towards creepy surgeon types.) Backstory: Scalpel, for a long time, has had a fascination with life. It's movements, how it works, how to preserve it, and how to take it. The life around him, that of Hivers, is fascinating. But so is that of others, of the non-hive races, the animals, the creatures, the humans, the Shek. The composition of their blood, make-up of their eyes, materials of their muscles. Since early on, he has resolved himself to 'study' these creatures. Expand his understanding of life. Peel back the secrets of their flesh, and commit their secrets to his memory. And frankly? Sometimes, he learns much much more when the subject he begins examining is not yet deceased...

Todays story: I had been in conversation with the Nexus for a couple hours now, and so far, it has been enlightening on what happened to her, as a personality had begun to develop in her during her time alone, all while I had been enslaved… It started just days after I went offline, at least to the Nexus. It had put a crisis in the library, as I was the oldest and the one everyone had been based upon. I controlled the Iron-Spiders, the thralls, and the building itself. All that had went down the hole when I lost my connection… During this confusion of who would be the new head librarian, a ship had appeared on the horizon, flying the colors of Tengu. Many of the skeletons ignored it, unknowing that Tengu was here for them. He landed in the bay, and before the guards could react in time, Samurai and shek mercenaries where pouring over the side and, using great weapons, broke apart the dock guard and worked their way towards the library. Every skeleton they saw, they broke. Every spider, they broke, and tore out their cores for profit. Many of the thralls hid on the island, and the few warriors were cut down, as many were on the mainland still, gaining knowledge and searching for me. They broke into the library just hours after their landing, and during the fight, a great hole was blown in the roof, breaking apart shelves and mainframes, losing countless data. The Nexus felt it all. When they came upon her, they didn’t break her, like she thought they would. Instead, they simply guarded her until Tengu appeared. In the images she showed me, he looked much different than now. He was wearing less expensive clothes, rags compared to when we fought him. After he spent a good while consulting a book, he began to order the Samurai to tear her apart. That’s when she spoke to him for the first, and last, time. Nexus: “You are making a mistake, Tengu of the United Cities. I only serve the head librarian, and that title can only be held by a Joseph model. Leave now, before I have six hundred thralls fall upon you, and tear you limb from limb.” Tengu had just laughed at that. He then simply walked over to the console and entered in the shut down command. Which was only known by me and Cat-Lon. After that, the Nexus only remembered being awoken now in her current Avatar, a rusty skeleton that had once been one of our thralls, and completely unable to disobey commands from the Shogun. Still she persisted, in finding loopholes in his commands to act upon and sabotage his efforts. It worked, after all. We showed up, defeated the Shogun, and I found her. Me: “You know, this could make a decent story, you traveling the United Cities when you’re supposed to be an inanimate object.” Nexus: “You could also make a good story, going from a great skeleton leader to a thrall without memory to a Greenlander family for generations.” We were sitting inside the main building of Zuri’s refuge, just talking together. Construction had begun, now that Hiroaki and I had agreed to the plans. Those plans were now under construction, with the wall already being up, thanks to its simplicity. All it’s meant to do is keep out unwanted guests, not an army, thankfully. That’s what the other, bigger wall is for. Me: “We still haven’t decided on how we will salvage the data cores from the old library. We will need ships and men to go get them. So far, we have no ships and one man, Mutey, alongside the remaining skeletons who haven’t gone made. There is only six left, out of hundreds. Joseph-0058, Joseph-0046, Joseph-0054, Joseph-0036, Joseph-0004, and Joseph-0099. All were on the continent when we both were taken. Sure, they are the warriors, but all they known how to do is hit things.” Nexus: “Yes, it is a shame all the thralls went mad when they no longer had one of us connected to them. They would have been helpful. At least they are first generation.” Me: “Yes, there is that. I’m debating on giving them more freedom. They practically have had it for years now. They only came when you sent out the call.” Nexus: “Yes, I am aware, but before we discuss disconnecting them from the Nexus network, we need to discuss reconnecting you. The parts are easy to get. Many you still have lying around from when you looted Tengu’s Vault.” Me: “I told you, we will reconnect when everything is set up. Until then, we will continue as is. I don’t want something to go wrong before you are well and truly built again. You are more than just an avatar, you know. You took up the entire top floor of the library.” The Nexus just grunted at me. A very… Greenlander expression. It seems I wasn’t the only one to become more like these… young folk. It will prove interesting Indeed when we finally reconnect. Me: “Now, I need to go speak with Hiroaki about getting us a ship and crew. I’m sure some people around here wouldn't mind an adventure to an island of hundreds of insane skeletons. I also would like to speak to Sin, as soon as the Bugmaster exposition gets back, about possibly using the library as a school. I wouldn’t mind being a teacher again…” Another great episode Pat, even if it was chaos before you even stepped inside the bugmasters fortress. 🤣 I can’t wait for the next series, and while that means that this’ll end, it’s okay, it means I have a new character to create stories with :) Also, thanks for the heads up!! I might do an older character from another channel, Koko. I don’t remember if he was southern hive or not, but that can be fixed. He was a great warrior, if obsessive over a certain blade of his…

(Awesome! The Bug Master is dealt with! And annoying. The Bug Master is very annoying. But dealt with! And Southern Hive? Interesting… without further details I can’t put together the major details, but I’ll go ahead and put together a basic idea in another post! Cess out what kind of character I’ll want to play.) Hiroaki leaned over the table in his own office, something that had not changed amongst all the many other changes, and focused on the documents below him. The documents, and the map. After all, Sin, while still debating and undecided on many things, had quite decided on one thing in particular, the construction of a city in Shem. And it was Hiroaki’s job to detail out exactly what needed to happen to make that viable. The problem wasn’t with soldiers, or with population. They had enough Sandukar, and there were plenty of people who sought the protection cities had to offer, especially since the recent wars of chaos. A number of freed slaves were still finding their way to Zuri’s Refuge after all, and between them, the Sandukar, and The Sands, things were getting a bit crowded. Another city being filled wasn’t the problem. The problem was with location, materials, and supplies. Always supplies. Any substantial building project needed enough seed supplies to make it grow quickly. A city, needed quite a few, as well as significant resources of foodstuffs to make it happen. With their expanded fishing, Zuri’s Refuge could feed itself, but it didn’t have much in the way for stockpiling for another city. Fortunately, The Dominion had had a similarly pragmatic mindset, and a number of recovered food stockpiles from their area were of the type that could last a long time. Enough to get a start, but for further foodstuffs and rations before the city could get on its feet with its own agriculture, the best bets were to make purchases from The Shek Kingdom, Flotsam Ninjas, and Narko’s Disciples. Their allies to the West had had a lot more stability and time to seize old Holy Nation farms and territories, so they had more to spare. Construction materials on the other hand, even with everything they were building, were in abundance. Joseph’s Nexus helped with that, as well as everything else they’d recovered. For a city or outpost to be formed in Shem, there was, essentially, only one main supply route from Zuri’s Refuge that Hiroaki considered viable after his analysis. One making a brief stop in the Dune Renegades city of Shraff, then going through Stoat in the south of the Great Desert, currently held by Boss Simion’s Rebel Farmers and Outlaws, and passing through the Skimsands down to Narko’s Refuge in the Iron Valleys. From there, to the Black Desert City in the Deadlands, held by The Skeletons, before reaching down into Shem, to supply the outpost they formed there. A notably stable trade route, all things considered. The stops were with allies, most of them long established, and the main concerns were the skimmers in Skimsands and the acid rainfalls in the Deadlands. Neither of which were insurmountable problems. The distance, nonetheless, was of a concern, as the more stops a route had, the more opportunities there were for things to go wrong. Which was why the secondary part couldn’t come soon enough, that of the Shem outposts trading upwards to the Border Zone, and the Shek Kingdom city of Squin. Again, while the Shek personally loathed farming, their acquisitions from the Holy Nation’s and rulership over a number of farms that had once been the Holy Nation’s, meant that it would be an easy area to trade for excesses of food. Especially since other allies could, potentially at least, trade through it as well. Though the diplomatic tensions did need to be accounted for… Still, it was the best option. A secondary would be to go up to, of course, Narko’s Refuge in the Iron Valleys, longer, but also a position from which food could easily be delivered and negotiated for. And already a regular part of the downward supply of construction material and first supply set for the city in Shem, which could purchase food there while heading down. Multiple sources to supplement and support the city’s continued construction and growth, until it’s own food sources were stabilized. Reports on Shem indicated that it was desert, but fertile desert with a number of oases. A decent source of fresh-water, and arable land both, if one could set things up correctly. Hiroaki breathed in deeply, then out slowly, straightening up and folding his arms over his chest, brows furrowed thoughtfully. There was also the question of who would take the helm of the new territory, governing it. He and Joseph were out, the Hidden Sands were going to have to go to someone, possibly General’s Nibol or Mohi, as it’s clearly military nature suggested. But with this new outpost, the candidates were… both far more expanded, and far less certain. It wasn’t as though they didn’t have anyone in their ranks with previous leadership experience, or who hadn’t proved their worth. But governorship was a beast of many talents, one that could make, or break, a settlement. And it required a not insignificant amount of dedication and focus, one would find it much harder to perform other jobs while also looking after their settlement. It was more than just who had talent for it, it was also who Sin was willing to lose from other assignments. Of course, Mirusaki had been the one who suggested this action. It could be that he also planned to take the helm of the settlement, in which case… the job would become quite a consuming one, as stated. Then again, that was conjecture at Hiroaki’s part. Ultimately, the choice of who to lead it would come to Sin himself. For now, Hiroaki had done his part, detailing supply requirements, and the optimal trade route for them. Calmly, Hiroaki began to gather up his notes and recommendations- when the door to his office ‘slammed’ open, making him jump just a little, because he knew enough to know who it was that did the slamming. “Uuugggghhhh! How!?” Laru asked, immediately plopping herself into Hiro’s guest seat, eliciting a smirk from the man. He put his notes back down on the desk. They’d wait. “How Hiro, how do you go through so. Many. Meetings!? Who has that much time to just ‘sit’ talking about things that could be solved in a moment just by DOING something!?” Asked Laru, eyes wide and clearly agitated, sweat on her brow and agitation in her every body movement. Hiroaki gave her a sympathetic smile and moved around his desk towards her. “Welcome to the miracles of bureaucracy my love.” He stated plainly with a sigh, moving behind her and bringing his hands to her neck, and partially her shoulders, sliding underneath the metal. “It’s not a miracle, it’s a chore. I prefer stabbing things.” Muttered Laru, leaning back into his hands as he began to massage her neck and shoulders softly. “I mean I’ve had to do paperwork before, I get it, just- so MUCH time. Talking about fines and bounties and executions, and going over the same things, over and over again! We get it, murder is bad, you stab the murderer, move on! It’s not that hard!” Proclaimed Laru, as Hiro smirked a bit. “Not always that clear though. Investigation takes effort. You know this my dear.” He stated gently, before Laru sighed grumpily. “I know… just- they drone on and on. And seems like they’re doubling my paperwork for no good reason to. Ugh.” She muttered, closing her eyes. “Freaking- bureaucrats.” Hiroaki chuckled softly at her complaint, and leaned down to plant a light kiss on her forehead. “Believe me, I know. It’s annoying. There needs to be records though. And we need to make sure our laws and enforcement of them are clear. I know it’s a pain love. Thank you for enduring it.” He spoke, kissing her head again before she groaned further, and just leaned back with a sigh. “Mmm. Ugh. … You’re welcome… so what’re you working on?” She muttered, rolling her shoulders back into the massaging, as Hiroaki looked to his desk. “Finishing up my proposed supply route and trade plans for the new settlement. There’s still some variation, Commander Joseph hasn’t given me the final calculations for the building sets and architectural designs yet, but I’ve made good estimates based on the architectural designs that we started using here. It’s a bit longer than I’d like, but as trade routes go? It’s one of the better ones.” He stated plainly, before Laru sighed, eyes still closed. “Mmm, of course it is. Because you’re the best at what you do.” She stated, smirking a bit, as Hiroaki let a somewhat bashful smile come to his lips. “Well… I have experience. Regardless, if it works out, it has a lot of potential for the future. Especially as a base for conducting our southern campaign from. Finishing off the Southern Nobles.” He stated, to which Laru hummed again and nodded. “They’re the last ones left, aren’t they?” “Of the old Empire and the slaving institutions? Yes.” “Good. It’s about time they burned.” She muttered, and Hiro smiled a bit. He didn’t have Laru’s vengeful streak, never had, but he was glad to get things done as well. “We’ll finally be able to focus on construction without worrying about the next war. Long-term diplomacy, building, trading. Keeping things growing. Making the world stable.” He spoke softly, as Laru smirked a bit more. “Sounds nice. Except the paperwork.” She muttered, leaning back more into his hands. “Yeah, keep doing that-” KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.

Both Hiroaki and Laru looked up to the sight of Commander Joseph standing in the doorway, a file of documents held in his right hand, and his left having calmly ‘rapped’ on the side of Hiroaki’s office. “Excuse me. Am I interrupting?” He asked, to which Hiroaki gave a light smile and Laru gave a small frown. “No.” “Yes.” They replied in tandem, the former and the latter respectively. Hiroaki looked down to Laru and chuckled again, giving her a little squeeze on the shoulders. “Actually, Commander Joseph’s visit is scheduled.” He informed his paramour, before patting her shoulders gently, and removing his hands, leaving her to groan lightly, but shake her head and stand up, arms raising and joints creaking. “Welcome in. What do you need Joseph?” Asked Hiroaki, approaching the Commander. They’d worked together on so many things by now, that there was far more casualness in their speech than before. They’d become friends, and Hiroaki had been trusted with things most important to the Commander. A certain degree of less formal speech had become more natural to them. “Two things. One, I have something that you need, the architectural plans and material estimations you requested.” Joseph stated simply, handing Hiroaki the folder, whose eyes lit up. “Ah! Thank you Joseph, with this I should be able to complete my recommendation!” He spoke quite happily as he took the documents. He did love his thorough paperwork. “You are welcome.” Spoke the skeleton commander, knowledgeable enough of the little ‘habits’ of humans by now in many regards. Before he continued. “And secondly… I require a ship and a crew to make our way to the original site of The Nexus, to recover the data cores. It is an operation that will require an armed presence, due to the hundreds of remaining insane former skeleton guard drones.” Stated Joseph bluntly. Hiroaki blinked, then furrowed his brows in thought. “Hmmm, potentially problematic, depending…” He muttered, before Laru piped up. “How much are you planning to pay? Because I know more than a few people who’d be willing to crew for your if you’re offering them good cats.” She stated plainly, standing up and stretching her arms, as Hiroaki moved back to the desk and placed Joseph’s folder on the table, then collected the documents he’d been examining and placed them next to it. “Outstanding, then my dear Laru’s already got crews in mind, the question is one of ships and sizes.” He stated, opening up a drawer on his desk and pulling out further reports and lists, calmly starting to array them on his desk. “We lack advanced docking facilities still, as you know, so most of our ships are still of a size that can’t go into deep water. The larger ones are focused on major fishing operations… though, perhaps if the original Nexus site is near one of said fishing spots, then they can do both jobs. If not, then probably better to go with one of the smaller ships or medium-sized coast-skimmers… ah, come Joseph, tell me about the size of these data cores, their weight, and the number you need.” He spoke, motioning to Joseph, even as Laru looked to Hiroaki and smirked, rolling her eyes with nothing but fondness in them. She casually leaned against the wall, watching him as he looked to guide Joseph in the best use of ships and time for the situation, while making sure it didn’t disrupt Zuri’s Refuge’s maritime food intake. As for herself? Well, she’d be ready to recommend the proper crews and people for it once she knew just what size, and how many, ships Joseph planned on taking…
