Kensington Palace has reminded the public that the Duchess is taking her recovery at home seriously after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. The Palace released a photo of the Duchess in June to highlight that her cancer treatment is progressing well. The beautiful photo of the Duchess standing in front of a tree by a lake was shared as part of a new royal tradition. As part of the recent custom, the palace is summing up what the royal family has been up to during this month, reflecting on this increasingly busy time for the royal family.
The series, titled Welcome to June Rewind, also touched on the important D-Day celebrations, Pride Month and Father's Day. The summary which can be seen on the Prince and Princess of Wales' official Instagram account also included an update on the mother of three's cancer. In the post, Kate explained that she is staying positive, saying she is taking each day as it comes. I have been overwhelmed by the many well-wishes and messages of support and encouragement I have received over the past few months, she wrote. This has really made a huge difference to William and me and helped us both to get through some of the more difficult times. I am doing well but as anyone undergoing chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days, she added. The bad days can leave you feeling weak, tired and needing to rest your body. But on the days when I feel good and stronger, I want to make the most of it. My treatment is still ongoing and will continue for a few more months. On the days when I feel well enough, I participate in school activities, spend my free time doing things that give me energy and positivity and have started working from home a little. In our June roundup, we also highlight special moments from Trooping the Colour celebration on June 15th. The event was also a significant moment for the princess, who returned to public life during her cancer treatment. Her mother and her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were cheered by crowds on the Mall as they left Buckingham Palace in a carriage procession for the Trooping the Colour ceremony. Elsewhere, an Instagram throwback commemorated Prince William's meeting with the England European Championship squad, where he presented them with football shirts. He visited St George's Park National Football Centre.
