Pro tip for criminal dummies: If you are trying to hide in the dark from cops and it sounds like a helicopter is very close by for several minutes, it probably means they are looking directly at you.
i have a thermal imager like that but not nearly as advanced with zoom features and what not.. but my nephews came to the house and i had them make snow angels on the carpet... they would lay down and do as if they were making a snow angel and when they got up i had the image that was left behind on my camera... lol things are pretty neat..
I work for a train agency and you have no idea how much this happens when people call lmao. I heard this in the video and came straight to the comments to see if anyone else noticed.
@@tenpiloto I don't think it's so much they don't get it, it's that the the pilot and the observation officer have a much different and better view point. Plus each is only seeing part of the total picture. I have always thought with the technology we have available it would be much better if the officers in the air had someway to transmit their images to those on the ground. Sort of like a drone. I figure in the not too distant future these types of things will be taken over by drones.
Hank D--absolutely agree with the image-transmission solution. The technology is totally available now--nearly all car units are equipped with online laptops--no reason these airborne images can't be passed on to them from either drones or manned aircraft.
If I'm not mistaken this is the same agency in another video in this list where they are searching for a wanted fugitive hiding in the woods with basically only one officer on either side of him, but he was in the fetal position behind a fallen log. The... Helo... Had him surrender and walked him out to one of the cops... Via... It's... PA. I'm not going to pretend I know anything besides a few rides in the back via tours and some shit our small town would do with the military to swoop kids into the recruiter tables, but just thinking of being in the vicinity of a lading helicopters wash, the idea of walking a guy out via a helicopters P.A. from those heights. I just can't comprehend it. I absolutely wouldn't last six months. Between the FLIR and a PA like that they would have to change the call sign to LOLcopter 1. PA: Take a look to the sky just before you die It's the last time you will Blackened roar, massive roar fills the crumbling sky Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry Radio: How many times do we have to tell you singing Metallica will not make them think of consequences of risking their life. All I wanted was Gold skid bars for my Helo, sir. I'm distraught.
That was incredibly difficult to watch...cool tech but they need to hook that little "x" in the middle of the Guardian system video feed into the police units. Could you imagine the response timing of that?
yeah that's what I was thinking..."looking for four suspects" so they stick together.....plus they can't follow all 4 at the same time.....4x the chance of getting lost in the clutter......
When I saw it was 34 minutes, I put it on hold and went and fixed lunch and brought it back to my seat, kind of like the dine-in Cinetopia theater. Wondering if I should hook up to a surround sound.
one thing I've learned from these helo videos: best thing you can do is separate if you're in a group....they can't track all of you......"we're looking for a group of 4" and the four stick together..DOH
@LogicalSense It's already generating coordinates in the upper right-hand data block, which isn't going to be of much use to officers on the ground as we saw here.
I bet guardian one is thinking: damn if I only had a minigun lolol Buddy lying in the grass is thinking I'm safe here, I'll just wait it out....OOPS....
Good Job - that's a lot to keep all coordinated from the air - getting others in place - kept safe distance till assist arrived is great - the 4 at trailers, out of site so long - was starting to think they got access into the warehouse, at trailer. Maybe advanced GPS sooner or later - what chopper sees, same point camera sees - is transmitted realtime to screen in car - tracking the scene for best stop point & access. Cheers
Criminal says to self- Damn, it's so dark out here that there's no way they'll ever find me in this brush! Guadian One responds- Wrong! See, the dark is where I work the best! You now have the right to remain silent!
you know what is something Law Enforcement should look into is for the officers on the ground to see what the air asset sees so they can get a better idea what they are looking for ...shoot prob all it would take is a phone and an app to sync the video feed. it would solve a lot of the guessing game on the ground.
Assuming the suspects are not moving around too much, even just a lat,lng position would be better then nothing. The officers on the ground could input the coordinate it in their own gps and go from there.
Rpzzz - Already exists, typically used to support building clearing operations / raids. One of these days I’ll upload some police thermal drone footage.
@Six Beer Math drones can be light planes with a small combustion engine and actually fly way longer than a chopper. The advantage is, there's no need for two guy's sitting in the chopper - it can fly autonomously on a spot and transmit the video feed directly to the officers on the ground. There's just one pilot needed for search operations, but when you found a target you can basically just let it circle and follow the hotspot.
Did the 5th guy think that the cop's vision was based on movement like a T-Rex? Was he just going to act like he was sleeping there? Gonna have to get up and run at some point.
Just think how many criminals got away from justice before police started using choppers equipped with all this fantastic tech. But I wonder if drones will make the guardian one's redundant? I hope not.
Is realworld police videos out of wa or king county??you guys seem to do a lot of videos from here in king county and wa state, just curious as I live in king county myself, actually pretty close to the Kent area where this video took place
33:39, ghost heat signature is wild! That's amazing...goes to show you how much heat the ground can sap out of you.... If you're ever caught out in the woods it'd be good to remember that......
i may or may not have been smoking some green out in the woods with buddies when a Blackhawk shined its spotlight on us. Freaked the heck out of me, but they must've been training or fucking with us because nothing came of it. I was ready to book it tho, even tho I would have never got away.
Hard to believe in my tax dollars go to court police work running a red light or speed by 2 miles over and see how how fast you get pulled over this is crazy
1:55 guy is wrong unless his compass is oriented different. They would have been on the south side of the building. If he is looking north they would the opposite of what he is seeing having not flown over yet. 3:38 they would be moving east if he is facing 260. Maybe just don't know how this works or am confused
can you imagine cops on the ground, several years from now, will be able to see themselves realtime. 5g can bring this kind of speeds. the future is now, we are living through it.
The infrared so called heat detector, There is away around it you just need to to get your body temperature very low, or were some extreme installation cloves like roof tiles etc
I have a feeling the last guy was probably some poor innocent homeless guy. People who sleep outside are used to loud noises and can sleep through helicopter flying overhead.
