MTL has now set a very good precedent for all the young guys maturing into the system. I think it makes sense to sign our young forwards long term quickly, and I believe they will do bridge contracts for the young defencemen coming up. This is looking like a good salaray cap situation for Montreal. Remember, this Slaf contract starts in 2025. This is reminding me of the 2010s Bruins, great team for over a decade, with a bunch of great players with team friendly contracts. This might be my favorite time to be a Habs fan in the last 25 years.

Jeff Skinner going to the Oilers is gonna be scary. Jeff averaged 1.25 goals per 60 mins past 3 seasons combined which is top 10 in the league now he’s with arguably the best passer in the league…

I dont get why people call the goal and assist on the numbers of games as a main stats of players without considering the time they played in average each of theses games.

I think he is the one who fleeced. (Although listening to slaf he doesn’t seem to care much about the money) It’s the type of contracts like jack hughes (8) draisaitl (8,5), that looks bad at first because the players haven’t proved they are worth that much yet, but the team is betting on the projection and a long term so the salary cap can go up. Idk, I saw brady skej a top 4 30year old d-man get 7x7. A monster 6’3 230 power forward on a top 6 who just got 50 pts as a 19/20 year old, almost a pts a game in the second half get 7,6x8… it’s insanely good value in my opinion. Suzuki caufield and slaf all for 23 millions for at least 6 years, it’s great (especially in a few years)
